surfing's pretty different and quite a bit harder than snowboarding. Especially if you're on anything other than a longboard when you're starting out and have to catch a way. Catching the wave is the hardest part as you'll have to paddle like a mofo, after a couple of hours in the water paddling, your arms are pretty much dead and you'll start not catching any waves lol. Once you do though, it's so worth it, but it doesnt give the sense of speed like boarding, cuz the wave is always with you.
