Some tech guy braves the fire to try and save the driver
“The driver of car number 22, Giorgio Bartocci, was taken to hospital following an accident at the start of the first race of the weekend. He remains in intensive care in hospital in Brno, where his condition is currently stable.”

What recall? Thats the way they are intended to crash. Look at how many lambos catch fire after a crash, if they airbags went off probally more than 50% of them burst into flames.
Will this be covered by the Lambo recall?

Bartocci floundered outside the vehicle ( his racing harness failed) as it rolled to a stop engulfed in flames.
What followed next was a sickening minute during which Bartocci is left burning with half his body in the car, whilst marshals and safety personnel pointlessly sprayed seemingly underpowered fire extinguishers at the pavement instead of the car.
Retrieving Bartocci from his burning Gallardo seemed to be the last priority of the Brno track personnel as he was finally rescued by his own team, who sprinted over from the pitlane.
Bartocci is currently in intensive care with fractured ribs, a broken leg and second-degree burns over 40% of his body.

so half his body is burned (the half that was left in the car i assume)
he's ranked 4th in the standings for super trofeo :(

maybe i've lurked too much on exotic car wreck forum sites, but wouldn't the above statement apply to most other supercars? all that aluminum, magnesium, carbon fibre and other exotic materials that goes into those cars would also go up like a roman candle if they catch fire and burn:o
