Selling my daily driver. Reason: saved up for a real car.
I am (technically) the second owner - previous owner kept it in the family. The car has 382k km on it, new engine at 180k, 4 dr, auto, gray, cloth interior. Entire service history available.
If you're looking at this then you are looking for a budget car, so here are the straight goods so we don't waste any time:
Pluses:
- It starts, runs, and drives without any issues.
- Aircared until October 2010.
- Has an aftermarket stereo/cd/mp3/usb deck + 10" sub in the trunk.
- Upgraded speakers front and back.
- Remote auto start installed and works well

- Some of the items replaced in the past year: CV joints, both front bearings, brakes, rear windshield (vandalism), driver window (vandalism), plugs, all belts (timing especially), radiator+cap...
- It doesn't stink - at least I don't think it does. Non smoking car.
- Interior is rather good shape for its age.
- The car gets 420km on a 40L tank in winter, 450-480km in summer. Works out to roughly 30 mpg
Not So Pluses:
- There is a rattle while it's running - I suspect the heat shield around the catalytic converter. Nothing serious, but really damn annoying. Should be an easy fix.
- Belts need tightening.
- Rear defroster does not work - the connector welded on to the rear window doesn't have a good connection. I have confirmed the lines themselves work. If you can weld a new connection, or know someone that can, the defroster will start working.
- Yes, it burns oil. About a litre every few weeks. All tercels do this eventually, and the fix is inconvenient/expensive vs add more oil.
- It's not mint and does have accidents on record, but other than a dent in the bumper, the car is in (relatively) good shape.
- There is rust, but not a lot. Nothing that endangers the frame.
- Tires will need replacing by next winter.
Please pm or phone Jason @ 604-816-0350 if you'd like to see the vehicle. Again, I am asking $800 obo.
