you'll be lucky to get any of the above for that money in any kind of good condition

i have an 06 civic si in great shape for $17,500 - i would be willing to work on the price, but certainly nowhere near $14K (again, good luck finding a no accident 06 si for anything less than $16,000)

that posting got deleted.. i'm just saying - you will not likely find good cars in good condition for that money - and don't phone up someone who is asking going rate and offer them $14K, that's just cheap and annoying

you'd likely have to get a rebuild title or uber high mileage vehicle to get in your price range

You won't find those cars at $14K (unless they are high mileage or rebuilt). Get a S14.

I believe there are 2-3 in that price range (clean as hell) too

ya, buddy (sarcasm doesn't come accross on teh internet, but the term 'buddy' is so trashy and really doesn't help your point here)

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...760567500.html
240K kms & a US car - this car is worthless

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...760589228.html
another US import with >100k kms and still $2800 more than he's looking

this thread is a waste of time - the kids just going to phone up all the cars in teh $16-20K range and offer them $14K & to 'help me out on teh taxes'

waste of time

i'm curious to know why us imports are bad to car buyers
yes they generally have higher milage but that's because they also do quite a bit of highway driving..and it's not like the safety and emissions dont meet canadian standards. The only plausible factor that may 'hurt' resale value that i could think of is the imperial units on the dash.

a lot of the s2ks in the 14k range are pos...it took me half a year to find one that is in decent condition and not messed around with...
don't forget, the older the car the higher the possibility that the seller isn't the original owner and services and maintenance just gets forgotten down the road. Also note that the lower the price the higher the mileage it will have. For the s2k, this will mean you will start having to replace suspension parts (hubs, axles, diffs) and that costs quite a bit of money. so just keep in mind that even though the car is cheap, it is an old car with a long history and that will result in some unexpected maintenance that will cost you a shiny penny.

I'm planning to get a used s2k in 4 years time! Hopefully there will be some good condition under $10k by then

As for a used import under $14k now, would you consider JDM RHD's? Skyline GT-R 32 or 33s!

I have an Evo II (RHD) with two sets of ultra high performance tires (winter and summer) you can have for $9000. It's an amazing car already, with $5000 left in your budget you'd have a beast if you dropped that into it. PM me if interested.
