What's so novel about a time trial?!
Just because "Time Trial" was given the Engrish name of "Time Attack" it suddenly becomes cool?

Time Trial/Attacks have been popular for a long time now.
You just don't see these events in Vancouver. Legal ones anyway.
One Example:
Super Street started holding Time Attack events since 06 or so. It was a Highly publicized event too. That was 4 years ago.
Of course, that doesn't mean that there wasn't anything like it in North America before that.

The first Sport Compact/Super Street Time Attack was more like in 2004.

Time attack is the quickest one lap and you don't race against other people just the clock.

You build the car to drive really fast for one lap, not prolonged use. More or less.

If you're serious about this, events are held at the track in Mission.

Look for events under "solosprint", though it looks like most of the events for this year have already taken place. You'll also have to look up the rules for safety requirements (I can guarantee that you'll need a helmet) and also those regarding rookies.

Yeah, SCCBC runs Time Attack at Mission in the middle of race weekends. A bunch of us have participated in the past, it requires some safety gear above what an autocross or whatever needs but is pretty reasonably priced and is a ton of fun. Bring your own pit babes though.

Then they're racing themselves on a track with other cars. Not too hard to understand.

The two EG's been trying to beat the others time no matter at Eastern Creek or Wakefield as far as my friend told me.
Heard it's much cheaper to go to a track day there and they don't run the "point by" rule there. U pass when u're able to, of course without bumping the other guy off the track.

If you don't like the pointby "rule", I'm pretty sure you can rent Mission and run a completely open session. This of course is subject to what SCCBC, BCCCA and your insurance provider (or appetite for financial liability) say.

I'm just saying they don't run that rule there(as in "FYI":)). Think it's the same case @ Shannonville, Ontario....

I know for a fact that he doesn't like the pointby rule. I did a trackday with him before and he would not let through.
