: Splitting Network Cable? (Internet + Phone)

There is a network cable that runs from the basement to my room. (typical 4 pairs of twisted wire)

However, 1 of the 4 pairs is used to connect a telephone jack.

Is there any possibility I can split the wires so that I can get BOTH internet + telephone out of the same line? (splits on both ends; 1 ends going to router + telephone box, the other end going to computer + telephone jack)

And btw, where is a good place I can get those networking tools kits w/ the cutter, jacks adapters, clamps...etc

Yes you can do it, but the maximum bandwidth you will be able to get is 100Mbs.

You will have to use one of the unused 100BaseT pairs (Blue/WhiteBlue or Brown/whitebrown) for your telephone pair.
