My home university is SFU, and I am here in Ottawa trying to connect to their eduroam wifi but having problems setting it up.

I did all the steps listed here already
http://www.ns.sfu.ca/index.php?target=wireless_configuration_vista

I am using windows 7, so I don't know if that is generating the problem...

at the end, I am getting "unable to connect" when i try to connect to the eduroam network

I don't want to go to the coffee shop because it's too noisy. I want to use their library instead.

for the usernames and password, do you put
username: XXX
password: XXX

or

username: XXX@sfu.ca
password: XXX

any help would be much appreciated.

for me i use securew2 to authenticate to eduroam
from there i use that program and enter in my login credentials for my school
username:xxx
password:xxx
domain: ad.sfu.ca or something along that line. i use ad.bcit.ca since i go to bcit
it should be the same or something similar to that

From what I understand, it should be the latter for username and password.

The "@sfu.ca" should indicate to the network that it needs to look at SFU for the username and password key.

This might be helpful as well: http://www.it.ubc.ca/internet/wireless/eduroam_wireless/eduroam_vista.html

You might have to find out what domain your logging into.
I know when using windows 7, at UVic you have to login using:

UVIC\username
