To me, I enjoy watching these chefs better.. I'm sure they know how to cook but the pressure just gets to them... I mean, if I wanna watch a "serious" cooking show, there's always top chef, iron chef!!?

If I was to join them and I'm a chef, I would practice cooking scallops/wellington/rissotto/halibut..lol and make a "signature dish" beforehand.... but the pressure will still make me mess up.

I think why they all look retarded because they all have never been on a line before. We are talking about 8 people with 3 days to over look the menu and being thrown on the line (and at diff. positions every day).

Most of them are chefs = they run the entire kitchen back home and they might have maybe 1/5 the restaurant size.

I don't even think any asian chef that works at kirin would be able to pull this shit off. Asian chefs are set to do ONE dish at a time. they cook one dish and everything all in a work (most of the time). Imagine throwing them at hells kitchen trying to coordinate Beef wellington to a point where they have to ensure it coordinate with garish within a 2 min. window.

on another note the person won deserved it. They controlled the kitchen better in the final and honestly did improve 10 fold then from the start. This year wasn't as good as others but still a good show for the summer.

I think Jay was clearly the better chef who beats the crap out of Holli for consistency, experience, and ability to cook. He's also a lot calmer, more confident, and better equipped to handle running a kitchen. But Holli seems to have a lot more room to grow. While Jay's got what, like 13 years of executive chef experience, she's never done anything like that, and she's already nearly at, if she doesn't already match, his ability.

So I guess even if Jay was the better cook a this time, Holli deserves to head up Savoy Grill.

I wonder where Jay's gonna end up.


Btw, anyone notice Dave walking by in the background in the closing credits as the chefs were congratulating each other?! He just walked right by in that grey toque of his!

Speaking of which, where he at now? I nearly went to Araxia this summer to go check out his food and maybe get a glimpse at him, but the website says he left to pursue other things.

No, all the winners are actually rather qualified. I suspect that all the other contestants are fake though. I mean, if you read that article, Christina goes on to work for Thomas Keller...who is basically the Gordon Ramsay of America.

And when they win, they win a 1-year contract...not a lifetime one.
