I don't quite get the purpose of having that much storage in what looks like a low power system. And I'm assuming the extra SSD is for the OS, but what's the 320GB for?

It's a NAS RAID array. Meant for data storage only.

lol for the hours he spent on it, the money lost in labor could probably buy an available system for that setup.
