The only way he got busted was with an undercover cop though, which means he ran a pretty tight ship. Guy should've quit while he was ahead.
I also thought the VINs in ECUs are burned in at the factory (ie even a dealer can't remove it)?
probably swapped the ecu too

any money he would have had in personal accounts would have been taken from him by the rcmp as proceeds of crime, so of course it would have been in accounts in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands, lol
I always wondered, if you get busted for a crime such as this one and the police seize your money. Will they audit your immediate family too? Like what if he just gave all his cash to a family member to hold on to.

i think it all depends on how serious it is
this case they never really find out how serious it was so i doubt they can do it - no hard evidence.
