| My dog started sneezing, what to do!!!
I have a 18month male dog, he is generally happy and energetic . I noticed 3 days ago he started sneezing. He is constantly trying to blow his nose or clear his nasal passage. Maybe every 5 or 10 mins, he would have an episode where he sneezes like 3-5 times in a roll. Sneezing can be very mild to forcefull at times. HE still has energy to play with me but i feel he is abit lazy these couple days. He still barks or be alert for watching our house though.
My wife told me last weekend she walked him and met this dog that was sneezing while they were greeting each other, and that is the same kind of sneezing my dog has now.
My dog has never been to a dog spa or dog daycare. He goes to off leash park twice a month. He has never been sick or showed any signs of allergy to food or seasonal stuff.
I am worried and hope its not severe. I plan to take him to the vet next monday and want to know if anyone has any first hand opinion or guess about this.
I read somethign about "Kennel cough" and youtube a video and he doesnt sound like he was coughing and choking like real kennel cough victims were in the video.
Do you think he has caught a cold from that other dog or?
ANy input is greatly appreciated

He is sneezing.... Do you go to the doctor is you sneeze alot?? Are you sure its not inverted sneezing? If it is inverted sneezing plug there nose and gently blow in there face this will cause them to open there mouth thus creating a open air passage.

did he get into your wasabi stash? aside from that I got no suggestions other then a seasonal bug and probably nothing to worry about.

If it is kennel cough it will probably pass in a week.
Inverted sneezing is when they start drawing air in in long draws. it can almost sound like they are hyperventilating. If your dog stops eating and drinking then I would take them to the vet. The kennel cough drug only masks the symptoms as kennel cough is the equivalent to a cold for a dog.

thx everyone, sneezing frequency has died down alittle bit, he is now sneezing maybe twice a day.
Sneezing patterns are one or two big sneezes (like human), followed by forcefully pushing air out of his nose (like blowing nose but with short and like 5 repeating blows to push something in nostril. This actually may some like shallower version of hyperventilating (for like 3 seconds)
Dog is still eating and drinking water. I'd say energy is just average (not hyper).
I am concerned about foreign objects before such as fox tail up in the nose, but since he is improving. i am less worried now. I am still keeping a close eye on my puppy.

I would venture to say then it was a bout of kennel cough. It is alot healthier for them to get it while they are young and healthy. This way they have an immunity to it for next time. My 13 yr old shih tzu got kennel cough last year. After 4 days it was gone. He was just a little more lethargic and occasionally would cough if excited. Dogs can present a sneeze like symptom as well.
