I'm in search of 2003 Mazda Protege 5 Catalytic converter right now. It's for my parents' car and I'm not too sure when it comes to obtaining Mazda parts. Anyone here knows a good place or someone who might be selling their cat?

I want to stay away from dealers since they charge way too much.

they should have a few proteges lying around..

if not, use a magnaflow cat, weld/ clamp some flanges on and voila. (assuming your cat doesnt have an o2 bung on it.

You might also want to figure out why your cat dies. If not the cat will die again, eg excess fuel or coolant leak.

Mazda cat is expensive because it got more precious metals.
