probably one the best investments you can get :P had mine for
5 years, and 2 years of the wired retainer. now i have to wear this plastic retainer once a month for the rest of my life ... D: painful yes, but totally worth it LOl

Somehow, the bottom row's fked up. Cause 3 of my bottom front teeth
are lined up with my top 2 front ones. So it's like staggered...

Seriously, for those of you who still have braces, listen to your ortho and wear your retainers. After all that pain and suffering, wearing a retainer for a few hours a day/week/month is worth it.

I didn't and my teeth relapsed. They're not as bad as before, but still - all that time/effort/money wasted!

That video is really old and shows a very old kind of brace called the Tip Edge. if you watch closely -- they don't straighten the front incisor for several months -- that's a waste of time imo

braces are a lot better now -- faster and more comfortable -- i use the Damon system for most of my patients

i just got in a new kind of lingual (inside) braces that are really cool

My braces would've came off earlier but its my own fault i'm just too lazy to wear the elastics to correct my midline.

And mainly because they had to wait untill i got my lower 8's(wisdom) taken out.

My teeth aren't really fucked up (upper left incisor is WAY too far back between my left canine and left front tooth due to a baby tooth not falling out before it started growing, and bottom row has some crowding), but I could sure use them to straighten things up.

orthodontic treatment that involves surgery of the upper or lower jaw usually costs in the range of $10-12K . the orthodontic fee is typically 7K and the surgery fee is 5K.

dental insurance will cover the braces but not the surgery
