apparently you don't need a seat belt if you have a little girl wrap her arms around you.
that's actually pretty cool

Exactly that, I think our generation's pretty good with getting brainwashed when we were young.
Everybody I know wears a seatbelt, it's not even questioned or looked upon as stupid. I think positive peer pressure alone would keep everybody in line now. Even our parents. I know some aunts and uncles which try to resist when they sit in the backseat of a minivan, but that's the ONLY time I've seen people not belt up.
Kind of like almost everyone I know doesn't smoke. Except for less than 1%.
I'm actually curious what's going to happen to the cigarette companies in 10-15 years, when all the smokers start dying off.

Yeah, unlike back in the days when seatbelts weren't required,
I think everyone wears seatbelts now. It's like an automatic thing.
Actually now that I think about it, it's kind of weird.
I never even notice me putting on or taking off my seatbelt when I drive.
I guess I just do it subconsciously.

I don't often carry more than one passenger so rarely have anyone in my back seat, but from my experience, ppl sitting in the back seat rarely buckle up. It also seems when ppl get into taxis, they don't buckle up as well.
It takes less than 5 secs to buckle up, stay safe guys.

I always wear my seat belt, even though my friends sometimes make fun of me when I do that and signal in a parking lot. Not wearing the seatbelt is like ticking no to life insurance! For the people who don't wear seatbelts in my back seat, all it takes is a few of my cornering tactics to change their mind.
