Looks like crap. What a useless superhero, I doubt more than a handful of people even know who or what Green Latern is. I never heard of him until they crammed in some Green Latern references into the production I work on.

i wouldn't mind a green lantern movie, especially if done right. the ring constructs could be a bit corny though, i suppose, if they wanted to use them for comic relief.... like a giant old shoe to squash the villains or sth...

The Green Lantern is actually a very well-known and important character in the DC Universe, so making a movie with him is not a stupid move.

He is not just your average "useless" superhero.

I actually haven't read much of the green lantern comics, but I think the power is pretty cool.

That power gives the movie creators quite a bit of flexibility in terms of CGI and powers.... hopefully they're making the best of that.

Green Lantern's actually a really important character in the Justice League. I totally suggest you all check out the very good cartoon series that was recently done for them. (Also Superman/Batman under the Red Hood but that's just a plug for some fantastic voice work). Green Lantern's got a lot more of a fan following then Iron Man did prior to the movies, and I know several people for whom he's their absolute favorite character.

That said, I can't stand the Mask. Ryan Reynold's face is too pretty to cover it up so lamely!

The Green Lantern Corp. Is an organization that is the defender of the galaxy. They have thousands of green lanterns from many different planets.

I believe the black green lantern is the 2nd or 3rd one after hal jordan passes the ring on.

However, all the marvel movies are tied together and are building towards the Avengers.

So I went on a DC animated movie mass downloading mode and lemme tell you, don't watch Superman: Braniac Attacks. This one was PG made for kids. It's where no one dies, no blood, music is cheerful, Lex Luthor, though he is doing evil things he acts like a goof. Right after I watched that crap I watch Batman: Under the Red Hood and DAMN! Now that's what I wanted to see!!

I see they took Joker's origin from The Killing Joke comic. I also loved how deranged he was.

That's pretty standard for big movies like this. They usually sign the actors to contracts for like 3 movies or whatever.
