I'm pretty sure you get to see and hold your baby soon after it pops before they take it to the nursery. I don't see how a mix up could happen from the vag to the mother's arms.

I don't know how it works in other parts of the world, but here, assuming your baby's healthy, s/he never leaves your sight in the hospital.

Except I left mine with the nurse on duty for a bit cuz I was too frickin' tired... :blush:

I don't know if it's different there but the baby never leaves your site. They come to your hospital room and deliver the baby, clean it and do all the checks right inside the room. It stays with you and the only time it would leave you is if there was a problem. It's not like it used to be with a seperate nursery with a viewing window and all the babies inside it.
