| deck install kit question
I am trying to install a deck by myself today and all was fine until I took the dashboard off. My question now is how do I secure the deck to the dash? Do I need a deck install kit? If so how much? Btw I have a 5th gen Accord.

If you brought the deck new like he said it should come with a rectangular shaped metal thing you slide that in first and there are all those metal shapes in it you push them down which holds the metal thing down then slide the deck and it should move around
But it looks like you dont have it ............... it doesnt' cost much 30 bucks max ? At local audio shop! Or try used on rev someone has one im sure

The only thing with that is. you cna't jsut buy any mounting bracket cause the locking clips that the actual head unit and the bracket won't match up therefore people can jsut sldie it out with ease to steal it. If you buy a universal one or find one, test it out, make sure the locking clips match up.

I bought my single din deck used but I have the mounting bracket. In my car, the factory radio is screwed on to a pocket below it, and the pocket is then screwed on to the dash. I just can't secure the new deck with the old pocket so I can't secure the new deck on the dash. Anybody knows how to fix this probelm on a 5th gen Accord?

I got the same problem too.. try to figure that out for a long time.. but finally got it fixed!
Try using those metal piece, cuz it got so many pre-drill holes on them so you can match it and secure on both ends...

What did you use to secure it?
those retangle brackets are only good to hold it in place, but any theives can pry the deck out.
I have 5 or of those sitting my garage.
Garbage is what they are.
I use that long metal strip w/ holes in it. What i do is i cut that in half
and bend it in place...screw it on each side of the deck..and screw it in
yes it's easier said than done..but once it's done, it holds very nicely
