Richmond Indoor Paintball

Located on Westminster and Elmbridge in Richmond, the field and location is awesome. They're open from 12PM straight through until 12AM every day. (Including holidays!)
Was just there today at Richmond Indoor Paintball, and I kicked a LOT of ass!
It's a great indoor field of about 25,000+ sq ft in total.
The staff was awesome, the gear was great (for those in my party who rented), and the game types they allowed were excellent!
The rates were even better, considering everything the field has to offer.
For the early session, it's $25 unlimited from 12-7PM (not including rentals and paint), but if it's a slow day, they let you play for however long.
Fortunately, our party was there when there were no other players, so it was very relaxed, and we took our time in between games.
An average rental with unlimited time from 12-7 would cost about $50 to start, and paint would be anywhere between $15-$100 extra (depending how trigger happy you are). The rental gear can vary depending on what extras you want, whether you want some gloves, a pistol, or even a radio. The gear itself isn't rancid, unlike other indoor/woodsball arenas I've gone to, where the gear was in the shits.
They've been open since April 2010, and so far, I'm impressed! I'm happy Richmond finally has an accessible field open year round, and late!
Anyone been? :thumbsup:
Edit: Clarified a little more. (Sorry. Was rushed a little)

Well, that's the field fee, then rentals are $25. Then you have to pay for paintballs as well!

Lol you beat me to this thread. I wanted to do a 411 thread on it.
How's the field? Seems a bit pricey though. Both balls and entrance fee are more $$ than other local fields.

It's a little pricey, but they offer long hours, they're open everyday, and the field is excellent. Lots of gametypes to play in that field.

So how much is everything total, all the gear/paintsballs/rental etc ? How long do you get to play for ?

Sorry. Was rushed a bit and just blitzed through my post. I clarified a little more.
So how much is everything total, all the gear/paintsballs/rental etc ? How long do you get to play for ?
All in all, you can look to spend anywhere between $50-200. It all depends on how much paint you want in the end. The bare minimum to spend with basic gear, unlimited play time, and 100 paintballs is $65.
By unlimited play time, they let you play as long as you want from 12PM - 7PM. Just make sure you have enough paint.
$25 Weekend field fee
$25 Rental Fee
$50 to start with no bullets.
* $15 for 100 Rounds
* $28 for 200 Rounds
* $55 for 500 Rounds
* $100 for 1000 Rounds
* $180 for 2000 Rounds

So how many rounds do you use on average for say just an hour ?
Can you elaborate on the gameplay, is it like cqb, it looks like warehouse setting style.
Maps, settings?

Their field is like a modern warehouse kind of thing, has like some beat-up cars and stuff. Looks pretty cool. :p
You can find their video on their facebook/youtube page.

^^^ It's all dependant on what type of game types are played. Generally, they'll ask you want you'd want to play, which would usually be team deathmatch, capture the flag, or even timed 10 minute games of conquest.
The staff even suggested that at night time, zombies would be possible to play at their field.
The layout of the field is definitely warehouse style, with two storey buildings inside, cars, a small park, jails, etc.
Generally, a game of deathmatch would last around 10-15 mins. In an hour, you could probably squeeze in about 4 games.
We had 8 people today, and in 2 hours, we managed to get around 6 games. 2 deathmatch, 2 ten-minute conquest, 2 ten-minute king of the hill. We could have stayed longer, but our 1000 paintballs ran out, and we also had some other plans for the night.

is the same place behind rush net bar that closed a few years ago
& for that price i might as well go to n.van
for non-marker owners this place is hella expensive. You're probably looking at around 80-100$ every time you go. I guess its a nice place to go and check out once but if anyone is thinking of doing this long term i suggest you go to north shore paintball..

They also provide group rates for parties of 6+.
$55 for the field fee, rentals, and 100 paintballs.
I brought this place up mainly because of the days and times they're open.
It's specifically for people who don't just want to go on a weekend, or people who want to paintball past dusk, and it's a great alternative for paintball hungry people.

most of the paintball places dont allow you to bring your own paint..
you can bring your own gear, just not paint.. then all you do is pay the field fee and paint...

^ you're so going to get caught man. it's their only means of making money and you can sneak in say 100 balls, but if u're pulling in a case of 1000 you're going to get caught. so might as well just pay for it.

New or not, when they sell paintballs they make sure the paint is all the same, so if you're rockin' some different paint, they'll notice.

i checked it out last thursday.. it was awesome!
we were 8 people and the damage was $30 each. thats because they had a promotion of free admission and $10 rentals and we just chipped in for the $180=2000 rounds.
we played more than 3 hours
gears/guns are great. i just find that you need a smaller gun due to the limited space to maneuver.
if youre basing prices from the site.. yeah its kinda pricey.. but i like how friendly the staff there is! i'll come back for sure!

been there twice now last friday and today. pretty neat place completely diff. style of playing almost no place to crawl from point a to point b so u gotta run and gun or snap shoot. overall if they keep the no field fee thing goin i'd prob go more often
If you can get past the expense, it's that good that I'm actually starting to give up bushball for it. (I usually play outlaw).
I'm just hoping that when RIP get's established, the quality of environment (field maintenance & reffing) doesn't diminish like many of the fields I used to frequent; because right now it's top notch over all the local paintball fields.
So far, RIP's greatest provision right now is their discouragement of paintball's cliquey nature. Hopefully that doesn't change when more of the serious pballers migrate to RIP.

Ah ha.
I'm actually the field manager for RIP. I'm glad a lot of you had a good time, and I'm sorry for those who think it's too expensive.
Their are days that are better than others.
Monday is half price on paint ($90 a case) and $15 entry after 5.
Tue/Wed/Thurs $30 gets you entry and rental.
Every second tuesday we have the owners/techs of Milsig come in and play. We play clip fed/limited ammo games.
Friday females get free entry and rental.
Sat/Sun it's $15 entrance after 5pm.
If you come with a group, we do offer discounts. Say $50 for entry/rental and 200 paintballs. Just call ahead with groups of 10 or more, as we do sell out.
If you are a first timer and want to come check it out, I'm there from 12-12 Tue-Sat, tell the front desk to find Ryan and mention to me that you read this all I'll see what I can do for you.
Cheers.

YOu can essentialy drop in any time. The problem is, are their more people dropping in at the same time.
Evenings are the best time for drop in. Friday night, Sat all day, Sun all day, Monday nights, every second Tuesday night and occasionally Thursday nights. It's always best to call ahead if you are unsure of the head count. But you dont need to come with a big group, we just ask that if you are to come with a big group that you call ahead so we can have the equipment ready for you, as well as making sure we do not reach capacity.
Sneak in your own paintballs. Just make sure they're new and not hard or your friends will hate you :)
We check. Often. We have proprietary paintballs.

i checked this place out a few weeks ago with a group of 15 and we had a blast. only thing was since it's 1 field, you rotate back and forth if there's another group if you don't want to play with/vs the other group.
i'm heading back in dec for a buddies b-day and he's got 30+ booked so that will be sick. i'm happy this place lived up to my expectations. i haven't indoor'd for 15 years since colour wars/splatter zone.
my only suggestion is to maybe lay some strips of carpet or something down a few paths so it isn't a total paint puddle. only due to my cat like reflexes did i avoid falling. lots of running full tilt into walls to stop myself. good times. oh and laser sights those are always awesome.
if you're a noob, we had 3 womens in our group and they had a great time and even they didn't bruise up all crazy.
We have actually turfed over 50% of the field to avoid the slipping. We have also added about 15 new bunkers and things to hide behind. We don't like the slick floors any more than you do. :D
We're only getting better!

yup, it was very slippery yesterday.
Friend slipped and broke his gun.
Went today with a group of 20+
The layout of the place isn't bad but they really, really need to turf the whole place or do something about the floors. A few of our guys would slip and fall at random because it was so damn slippery. It's not even the "haha you slipped!" falling...it's more of the "oh fuck! are you ok?!"
2 of my friends slipped going up the stairs and they weren't even full out sprinting up it either.
If the field manager that posted in here earlier still reads this thread then I hope they seriously considering doing something to fix that shit

I went a few days ago, the staff were really friendly and the field is pretty cool, apparently it was based off the map "strike" from CoD 4, so if you are or were a CoD 4 player like myself, playing the field is an awesome experience.
Like others have noted earlier, the floors are hella slippery, and a few of my buddies fell going up a flight of stairs, but no serious injuries occurred from that. If you plan on going, remember to wear grippy shoes!
It was a lot of fun and it was my first time, so if you're hesitant about playing because you might suck or w/e, don't worry because almost everyone in my group were first time players and we all had a shit ton of fun. :D

I read this before I went, and I think the main reason as to why I didn't slip was because I wore grippy shoes, thanks for the advice! I was about to wear my worn out sneakers and then I remembered your post....whew.
