it was ICBC you talked to right? and not Busters themselves...

I've dealt with busters before - complete dicks. I wouldn't even CONSIDER having them towing my car if it ever breaks down.

GL dealing with Busters - Their floor manager's name is "Fred"

I would go to their website and call both yards and see where your car is.
http://www.busterstowing.com/

Otherwise perhaps another company took it?

I'd estimate roughly 3-4k

I don't think they'll give you exactly what it would be worth, not sure how that works.

^ icbc doesn't care if you just replaced the tires lol

^neither will thye care about the tmiming belt/pump/sp..
those are considered regular maintenance, and will not be a factor in the cheque

See how much the buyout is, it might be worth parting out especially with the JDM front end etc...

And yea ICBC does not consider maintenance into the equation.

actually any new maintenance done, including tires...as long as you have the receipts they will give you money for we got $500 but most likely they will just include it into the overall total

Our 03 civic sedan DX 106,000km was totaled and we got 9k for it which was about 2grand more than what most on CL were selling for

If you want more $ make sure to find ads on the net CL,autotrader, etc. so you can show them that this is what my car is worth and why

and the program they use to appraise your car is BS...she gave us a list of cars for sale with the same options at dealers around here but they mysteriously disappeared since NONE of them were on the dealers websites for sale hhhmmmm :bullshit:

edit: i clearly remember our adjuster saying that if we had done any maintenance or replaced anything recently to bring in the receipts

if they dont give you what you think is a reasonable price for your car, then look around on Autotrader, when this happened to me i found that autotrader had more of the same car and had higher prices, normally because they were dealer vehicles.

good luck, icbc isn't as unreasonable as everyone portrays, but they're in the business to save as much money as possible so just fight for it

good luck, btw it was a nice car.

pass seat, whole front end and axle back in my case..

hope it'll go well bud. but it looks like a write off for sure.

ICBC would look at condition, history and current mileage of car. value would also be based on options equipped from FACTORY on the car.

u wont get much back from mods though.. barely any honestly.

Sorry to shit on your thread but there is a high possibility that ICBC might reject your claim due to your JDM front conversion, since the head lights are not DOT approved. I'm not 100% sure, but a while back my friend with a Toyota Aristo got t-boned and ICBC did not cover him due to his headlights not being DOT approved.

:speakeng: LOL....
I asked our adjuster if we could buy the car and fix it up ourselves but she said no...but it may depend on the extent of damage done, if the frame is bent then I doubt it...

Did they rule you 100% at fault? If so your going to get raped with insurance(I got a 40% surcharge), but yea you can talk to your adjuster about repaying your at fault claim
http://www.icbc.com/autoplan/costs/save-money/discount-protect

"You will only move up the scale if you are found to be more than 25 per cent at fault for the crash. If you are 25 per cent or less at fault, your discount level will typically not change."

Good Luck

I just wrote off an '02 Si w/176k and I got 9Gs. No way could I have sold it for that! I got extra money for my new tires and my window tints and even for having a leather wrapped steering wheel - without receipts. Get ICBC to email you the Valuation Report on your vehicle. It breaks everything down in depth so you can see whether you're getting screwed or not and in what specific areas.
