I'm on the fence as well. I just don't think Treyarch is on the same level that Infinity Ward was when they made Modern Warfare. Not too many when it comes to WaW Zombies. IMO, it's much better than L4D. I bought L4D because I like Zombies in WaW. But 30 minutes with L4D, I sold it. No comparsion IMO.

Buying this primarily because of the Zombie mode. I only pre-ordered it coz I had waaay too much store credit in EB from trading in my old shit.

COD online was always too nubfriendly, which I hated. Too many campers, boosters, n00btubers, knife whores, etc.

I really hope Treyarch (meh) balances this game more, otherwise I'll be spending time doing Zombies more than anything. Praying the campaign won't disappoint either.

CS is COMPLETELY different from CoD. CoD is sort of a fun, run, and gun fps whereas cs (imo) is more of a strategic slow paced, accuracy, and skill dependent games. Note that these thoughts are biased. I know pro fps players that have come back from playing both and they've all said that cs takes a lot more skill. Imo, i would only play CoD on a home console like a xbox.

Its gonna be a hate love relationship lol.. Honestly I rage pretty hard sometimes because of this game.. (First game I EVER raged from.. and iv played a lot of games..)
I think you'll find the game pretty fun but if your playing console.. be prepared to get raped the first little bit cause it will take time to get used to the controls.. lol

But ya.. i think you should ignore what whoever up top said about the game being a run and fun w/e.. its all personal preference on how you play the game.. your always gonna have the people who bait/run in rambo/camp/creep/w.e..

So I've played Black Ops. It feels a lot like WAW. Graphics do not seem as crisp. Nuketown is a horrible map. Since everything is suppossed to look like a test town, the map just feels unfinished. When you're running at full speed and go to prone, your character will actually jump and dive which I thought was pretty cool. A lot of the sounds seem recycled from WAW as well. My current verdict: MW2>BO. Nevertheless, I still will be buying this game as MW2 has finally lost it's replay value for me.

Solo campaign = Not bad.


Multiplayer = Very very solid. So far, it's pretty balanced and it's loads of fun.

Multiplayer, the servers are taxed at the moment. Hard as fuck to get into a game and half the time even when you do it goes back to the lobby after loading.

Tap left and right trigger repeatedly when you're at the main menu (with the television). Walk around and when you see press X to access computer you should get an achievement. Works on 360 not too sure if it works on PS3.

And you can type in stuff like...

Probably wont see a lot of them in black ops.. since scavenger doesnt reload equipment anymore.. you only can plant 1 claymore per death...
That and they have the motion sensor, which is way better then the claymore.. lol

The sound in this game is weak. Anyone ever hear an M16 being fired in person? The game sounds make it a disgrace. Lag issues, graphics are sub-par from even MW2. Hit marker sounds are annoying and spawn system is still borked.

Pluses over MW2 albeit Black Ops is still new, no n00b tubes, no crazy knifers, game takes more gun skill to put a guy down, takes even more skill to use the higher end kill streaks, overall feels more balanced. But I would wait a week or two when everyone unlocks all the annoying shit and maybe this thread will turn into another "I hate Black Ops because of ... <insert annoying behavior here>" thread.

level 25 right now... don't think the game was as fun when mw2 came out. the maps in this game are all close quarters with tons of blindspots. its like a huge maze. Nuketown is a joke.. people spawn everywhere. The graphics arent as good as mw2 but it isnt bad. the sound effects are good. The grenades sounds cool heh. It seems as tho it takes more bullets to kill a person now. The game is more balanced tho. Don't think a gun is super more overpowered than others... that being said, they all feel quite similar.

Almost all the time after a game I get disconnected from the server due to "transmission error". Its quite annoying as I'm playing on a good server with balanced people and I get disconnected.

in single player, with certain akimbo pistols, only one of the guns will make shooting sounds. the other one is completely silent. kinda removes the fun of spamming pistols really fast. ;(

for those who havent already found the mini game (dead ops arcade), at the main menu in single player. (where you're the guy sitting in the chair), hold the jump button i think (space for PC) for a few seconds, and your character will get up. walk to the side of the room, and theres a computer for you to use.

for PC users, type in "CD", and then "DOA" to get into the mini game ;D
not sure about xbox and PS3 users. but i know they have this mini game too.

I'm using the Galil and Stoner63. Both of those guns rip at mid to close range. Napalm strike is way harder to use properly since it's a smaller coverage area, mortar is easy if you aim the three shots in a triangle-shaped area where you think enemies are.

Yup, have rage quit all 3 nights I've tried to play. I'm constantly taking 5-10 minutes to get into a lobby and then once I do 2 out of 4 times I'm kicked back to the lobby when the game loads. The times I do get in a game I'm kicked to the lobby as soon as it goes to switch maps and I start the process all over again.

Although probably not true it feels like I've spent more time in the last 3 days in the lobby then I have playing.

thats bc maps are so fucking big and complex that wherever you spawn, someone will be there.. just like when you kill someone.. once you do youre dead! it is almost as if you need to have a suppressor ghost and ninj aon to succeed.. it is def a different strategy to succeed in this game compared to mw2.. more skill and thinking..

as for the kill streaks not counting toward air strikes.. that one is a big one for kills..
