Did some searching and I'm having trouble finding info...so, sorry if this isn't in the right forum...

Does anyone know what's involved in buying a car in Canada and bringing it across the border to the US? I can find info about bringing cars in from Japan and the US TO Canada, but not vice versa.

Does inspection have to happen before it's driven across? Or can you put a temp permit on it and have no problems? Or should I leave my plates on it to get it across?

I have someone in the US interested in my car, he says registering it is no problem, he's just concerned about the border. And being a JDM car they might give him a hard time...
