Ok the story is, about last week, I misplaced my keys to my car and lost it somewhere not sure. So this whole week, Ive been using my spare. Last night, I managed to lose my spare, it mustve slipped out my pocket pretty sure. I know I shoudlve got duplicates of that, it was my bad. But I need to know what are my options? Since my car is a soarer, should i go to the toyota/lexus dealership and get them to cut a key for me? Thanks any help is appreciated :(

Oh my.....getting Lexus keys is expensive. Did you lose your credit card wallet key too? Your only option is to go to a Lexus dealer and prove that you are the registered owner of the vehicle. If your car is a JDM Soarer, I'm not sure if they can do it for you.

your other option is to use transit...
with you lose so many sets, i hope you don't post your address in your keychain :D

IIRC if you have Roadside Plus, they'll pay to re-key/make new keys. Check your policy and see if it's included.

Bring a copy of your vehicle registration, provided the originals aren't locked in the car too to the dealer

If you take it to the dealer they're gonna charge a stupid amount. They wanted like $25 to make a duplicate for my JDM MR2 when I had it. Also it wasn't guaranteed to work because my car was "JDM". Another option is to get a key "keyed" to your door lock... I got it done on my civic when someone smashed my door lock. They can change pieces inside the the lock to a specific pattern.

Perhaps try a locksmith that specializes in automotive locks? I'm not sure if the keys are coded where they can cut an exact copy of it or not, but it may be worth a shot if the dealership wants to charge an arm and a leg for it.

Here's one that I've used before and they were pretty good. They're out in Coquitlam though. You might want to give them a call and see if they can help you out first since you can't exactly drive your car out there.

If it's a standard car key a locksmith will come to your house and cut you a new key for $100.

try lock masters

I'll assume there was no immobilizer and laser cut key for it. Other you might be SOL'd.

is this the type of lexus key you have? the one shown is circa 2000 with a chip and i'm not sure what the older ones look like

if it looks like this, you *could* try ebay. the one shown is a spare that i had made from a seller on ebay. i gave them a canadian VIN number and they cut it for me, but i'm not sure if that can be done with yours because JDM cars do not have VINs?
