There isn't a single Mercedes design that is appealing to me anymore. They all look slightly odd, weird body lines, offset door handles, square lights on curvy bodies, ... even the SLS looks odd.

I'm waiting foe the new slk. Everyone said the r171 was ugly when it first came out. I'll reserve judgemet until I see 1 on the road. Sadly it's prolly driven by a clai so it'll never see it past 50km/hr

Incorporating design cues like LED lights is to stay current and competitive. Do you think MB is going to go off on a tangent just to stay original in the eyes of fringe folks like you? Absolutely not.

This front end is similar to the one for the next R class, much more promising on that as this car has much larger styling shoes to fill

The one thing I've never understood about MB is they make so many lines of vehicles, they've got to be cannibalizing themselves.

The brake light is freaking weird. I'm actually a huge fan of BMW's idea to put it at the top of the rear window. Way more visible.

i too like the cl's aggressive look but that thing is super long, i compared the cl63 coupe next to a s550 sedan(there biggest sedan) and they are almost the same length*wow!*

i like the new looks of the mercedes line up, but i never liked the cls, the 4 door coupe just doesn't cut it for me

i just hope that they don't make one of those ridiculous suv cross overs like the bmw x6 or hond accord suv, man are those 2 cars ugly, there just like oversize sedans

and i agree with nns, if people are going to say that mercedes is biting off from other cars, then what about hyundai, accord, and altima biting off the g35 coupe? in the automotive world if you don't adapt then you lose

Mercedes Technology is no doubt amazing like the safetly features and such, but there lacking design and arent thinking of new concepts, instead they just use other car companies ideas to keep current.

^this is also true, but the big issue is that its a hit or miss

like when they came out with the c230 compressor they lost a lot of money even tho they were trying to appeal to the lower class with there pricing

and in this economic state that the world is in, no company can afford to make such a mistake

just look at toyota with the pedal issue, imagine an entire car thats a flop

that being said, i think that the E coupe is a totally new design for mercedes, which i like a lot, its also named the worlds most aerodynamically made vehicle, the lights are new, and its the first coupe to have a full panoramic roof with a glass sunroof as well

a base CL is not aggressive looking at all. the amg models are for sure but just the basic design and curves of a CL is far from agressive.

i think it looks great..but no as great as the current one.

regardless, it seems like most of the newer designs always gets flamed on RS, before you know it 6 months down the road everyone's drooling at these same cars they were dissing before.
