I like how on SSC's website they said they "shattered" the top speed record when they hit 256.18mph beating the Veyron at 253.81mph, or a whopping 2.37mph faster.

So if 2.37mph faster could be considered "shattering" the world record, then what about the Veyron SS at 267.86mph to retake the record at 14.68mph faster than the SSC?

BTW, SSC claimed that in wind tunnel testing the SSC could "theoretically" hit 272mph. That's a far cry from the 256.18 they actually hit with the car.

If this thing indeed goes faster than the Bugatti SS (which I doubt it will), you can be sure Bugatti will come back and bitchslap these guys.
