the gameplay i find it a lil slower than 2010, but the physics of the game is much better every hit is different. added some new elements like tying up for faceoff etc so it's not bad.. overall it's an upgrade over 09/10 + having all the CHL teams there is pretty cool

NHL 11 is so much harder to score, but breakaways ppl always score on me. 2 on 1's are not as effective as in nhl 10. I suck at 11 lol

Cross-creases have to be saucer passes now unless your passing lane is for sure open, otherwise the defender will steal the puck.

I had 2 reviewed in one game with thornton, both kicked in. the first one waived off the second one allowed.

I don't play online versus anymore only OTP. I hate the passing so I turned off the manual passing and only play season offline. I'm down for the OTP if somneone makes it and we have a good number of active players. I hate playing OTP with stupid people that dont pass and just hog the puck and with all the exploiters. Plus I hate the lag, so freekin laggy.

If you were indeed playing a ranked match, you should still get the credit for the match.

The thing that pisses me off is an opponent can quit within the first couple of minutes of a match and its treated as if the match never happened.

Free leaves before 18:00. Best to score after that from my experience, but I haven't had anyone leave my games like that yet.

You have to go to your recent games and view their player hub from there.

I finally got the game and loving it... ranked OTP is sick.. didn't even realize you use the created player of yourself in the game lol.... we were winning 6-3 and our goalie choked and lost 7-6 in OT... pretty fun though.

so if a player is "in your system" how the hell do i recall them to the team? i'm playing be a GM mode.. and i'm having the worse luck in injuries.. but most my 19-20yrs old can't be called up coz i think they got sent back to their junior team or something? and why the hell Hall and Seguin ain't considered a rookie.. they are not listed there

i don't think you can recall a player that is in juniors, only in your ahl club. careful if they're waiver eligible too

Yup, its way too effective. Also I hate it how players without the puck skate so much faster then the guy who has a puck on a breakway and break it up so easily now. Who's idea was it to change that?

I'm really starting to hate the NHL XX series from EA. Every year we get minor updates to the graphics engine and NO updates to the sound effects (wtf same play-by-play as NHL 10?), but then the gameplay itself is updated which leads to a bunch of inconsistency in scoring and completely different "feel" than the previous year (and not always for the better).

I HATE this game for:

- Online play. Laggy as hell - I press a button and my player moves literally 1 second later, which in a fast-pace match is just HORRIBLE. Why EA hasn't fixed this since NHL 07 is beyond me. No, it's not my connection, as I've had different modems, routers, and ISP over the years and it's ALWAYS like this. I noticed this espeically during peak time (night time, weekends). Disgusting. I've probably lost/manual quit at least half of my total game losses because of this. I don't mind getting beat by good players, but not when I can't control my players.

- Stupid AI, espeically the goalie - diving for pucks when there is no need, leaving an empty net for the opponent to score on; kicking the legs out for no reason when the opponent's player skates across the front of the crease; staying deep in the net when a clear slapshot from the point is taken, with no traffic in front; the list goes on and on. I don't know how many times I've cursed at my goalie for doing stupid shit that led to goals against that were unnecessary.

- Online play - did I mention this? The online experience this year is just HORRIBLE. I've even thought about selling this game because it's so bad and online is pretty much the only thing I play.


I LOVE this game for:

- Playing as your home team and players. Nothing beats it after watching a game on TV, then re-living it through a controller. It's just really fun!

- Nice goals when executed properly. Killer dekes, passes, one timers, breakaway goals, etc etc....

- Playing against other people and competing to win...

I just realized that each year I HATE the game more and LOVE it less, compared to the year prior. It's almost like EA is trying to make it more "realistic" by adding a bunch of shit to change the gameplay, but it's becoming less and less fun to play. It's becoming sloppier, harder to control, slower (default setting), clumsier, and overall just not enjoyable... sigh.

I've never been able to play online seriously. I just can't stand even the slightest lag and it feels like you can't ever react fast enough because of the delay between when you press the button and when something happens on screen.

And your cons... that's it? I find SO many things broken with this game. Two of the biggest for me:

The difficulty in this game is so artificial. I scored 3 goals in the 1st period and the CPU gets its rubber-banding maxed out; scores FIVE goals in SIX shots just by taking slap shots from the point or wristing it from the top of the faceoff circle. Ridiculous.

Then there's the passing. In theory the slow/fast passing is a good idea but something got real fucked up with players receiving passes. They'll constantly do some stupid ass seizure animation/swinging their stick trying to receive the puck and somehow just end up smacking the puck away from them. Why?

I hope 2K can do something good if they ever release another hockey game. 2K hockey games were way better back in the PS2 days.

I hadn't played club in a while because I've been playing HUT, but in the two club games I played, both teams against me had players with the attribute boost glitch. That shit is bunk.
