| transferring to SFU
Hi, I am in kwantlen right now and I was just wondering if anyone knows the GPA required to transfer to SFU, or more specifically psychology, if it matters. Also does anyone know how many credits you need to transfer? I have heard its 60 but I would like to make sure. Thanks so much!

24 minimum, 60 max but you need english and quantitative courses. Arts is like 2.0-2.5 (seriously). I got in with 2.87ish. Business is higher at 3.50, so they say. http://students.sfu.ca/admission/requirements/
It's low for arts since more people tend to go for UBC.

I looked on the UBC website, and I couldn't really find the gpa needed to get into arts, do you happen to know what it is around?

Different department varies. Usually SFU requires a min of 2.5 GPA for arts. Best idea is to go to a council at SFU and they'll provide u some detailed info.

Arts is probably 3.0 at ubc minimum I read somewhere. SFU says its 3.0, but in reality, it's measured by supply and demand. Most prefer UBC, and as that happens less people want to go to sfu. So sfu lowers its standards.

UBC you need at least 3.0 for most programs, and many courses in Kwantlen don't transfer over
You need to do you own research, take 2-3 hours of you spare time to go to SFU / UBC admission to find out. Contact advisors at SFU/UBC and use BCtransferguide to find our which courses you are taking transfers and which courses to take in future semesters.
You can transfer to SFU within a year easily if you take the right courses and do well in them.

Everyone that I know who transferred into SFU arts got in with a shitty GPA. Basically, if you apply, you're in.

Ready to take your learning to the next level?
If you are a well-qualified student attending a post-secondary institution, we welcome your application to transfer to UBC's Vancouver campus. You are considered a post-secondary transfer student if you have completed more than 6 credits (equivalent to 2 term-long courses, or 1 year-long course) of transferable coursework. Most transfer students complete at least 24 transferable credits before applying to UBC.
For most programs, you'll need to have completed a minimum of 27 credits to be eligible for second year and 54 to 60 credits to be eligible for third year. UBC will evaluate for transfer credit university-level academic courses successfully complete at recognized post-secondary institutions. Courses will be considered for transfer credit if a satisfactory grade has been achieved. A maximum of 60 transfer credits can be counted toward a UBC degree.
Many programs have specific credit totals and program requirements that must be met in order for you to be promoted to second or third year standing. At the time of your application, an admissions advisor will review your previous coursework and place you in the appropriate year level.
Check out our program-specific requirements table for more details.
Visit our post-secondary studies pages for students in Canada and students outside Canada for more information about application and transfer processes
| So does this mean, as a first year, I can apply as soon as I finish 2 courses and maintain a GPA of 3.0 and probably get in? Can anyone shed some light on this?
