| Water spots :(
I have water spots on my hood, roof and windshield. I`ve tried scratch-x, clay bar and had lousy results. I have an old polishing compound that worked great on my early 90s japanese cars, but it leaves more scratches than it takes out with my 2010 paint.
every time I wash my car I end up with more of them. My parents car doesn`t have this problem, and we use the same car wash, mitts and water. They park undercover and I don`t. only real difference.
I`ve also noticed on my hood, there are more marks and have overlapped almost on the turbo side of the hood.
how do I get rid of them and keep them away!
I try to wash the car in the shade, and let it cool down quite a bit, with a 2-3 minute rinse, maybe with the turbo and living at the top of a hill it needs to cool down longer.
any ideas

how do you wash your car?
-indoor / outdoor?
-sunlight?
how hard is the water that you're using?
do you dry your car immediately after washing?
ive only had mild water spots that come out pretty easily, but hopefully other guys on here can help you with the ones that are stuck

Are you drying the car off or just letting it air dry? The fact that your car lives outside could be part of the problem as well. It rains on your car and then is left to air dry in the sun.  How often do you wash it?

My little secret is to use a Sham-Wow.
It needs to be damp when being used, but it wipes down cars really dry.
What I would suggest is to let the car cool down for a bit longer, wash the car in the sun, but make sure you do not let any of the soap/water air dry, so constantly scrub it or hose it if its a really hot day.
After you're done washing it, shammie down the car as quick and as dry as you can. Then let the car sit in the sun for 5 mins or so. https://www.shamwow.com/default.aspx?did=&refcode=1002 | |

I wash it every few weeks at least, once a week if it`s nice out.
I dry it with a sham wow right after washing, unless i`m claying.
hard water shouldn`t be a problem since my parents car uses the exact same stuff and they don`t have the spots anywhere.
I have a feeling the paint is too hot when I wash it sometimes, especially since I noticed the marks are more on the turbo and exhaust side of my hood. I have quick detailer, but it doesn`t do anything heh.
any suggestions on getting them out

Even a light paintwork cleanser like Victoria Wax or Werkstat may be enough. Come by the shop and try some stuff to find one that works before plopping down your hard earned cash .  | |
