I've talked to the seller, he said everything is exactly like the playseat, except he actual seat itself. I plan to do this sometime on Friday, Sept 17, so lets make the due date for numbers on Friday @ 1PM, i'll be able to text the seller by then and give him the approximate numbers we'll need and we can meet up around 49th and Elliot (Killarney Market) to check out the quality and stuff before buying.

Good news!! The guy who brings these in is actuallyy buddys friend, he sells it to the guy who runs xgameseat, so he's willing to sell the seat with the gearshift for 250. He only has 6 left and I'm claiming one of them tmrw. Quality is probably 95% similar to the playseat, only difference is how the seat mechanism locks up when you fold it. Pm me your numbers if interested...

you can fold it? i'd be tempted at 250. Can you ask the guy for the dimensions..i wonder if it will fit in my living room?
does he actually have a store or is it just a meet-up location? if it's the former i'm guessing it's cash price with no taxes?
put me down for interested.

i will be picking it up tomorrow, since i am doing it straight from my buddy's friend. Unforunately i don't have the dimensions. you can try checking playseats dimensions, its basically the exact same thing. he doesn't have a store, he brings it in frm overseas and stores it in a storage. cash only, no taxes, you can try/sit before u buy. I sat on one today and it was really good! I used to have a playseat so i can compare.
If anyone's interested please PM me and i can give you his contact info if you are serious

I picked up a similar playseat, but it doesn't say xgame on the side, the quality is okay, one down side is the frame is slanted to left, so I just put a piece of cardboard of the left, to make it higher = balance again

thanks for that, i'll be sure to check that out. Was it like that from the begining or was it something that slowly degraded overtime?
I actually got the chance to sit on the seat yesterday and it was really good considering that it is sold for 250$. I used to have a playseat and in comparison to that, everything was the same, except for the seat of course. The playseat had a heavier and more of a solid feel to the seat. The foams were very firm compared to the xgameseat, but all in all i think its a good buy for 250$

so hows the seat guys? worth it?
Dragon-88
09-15-2010, 08:56 PM
Id give it 7/10 But then i dont know what the playseat is like.
Pros: Comfotable to sit in, better than sitting in my computer chair and leaning forward then to have a sore back after a racing session.. Does what you want it to do not much more to it.
Cons: You get what you pay for.. This is what I would consider a chinese knock off of the playseat.. No complaints but thats just what i would compare it too. Shifter is in good position, steering wheel could use just a little more angle. I feel my knee always touching the bottom of the wheel and cant do anything about it without a awkward position.. Pedal base is offset but not enough. Everytime I heel toe my knee slams into centre pole. I think it could use another inch to the right. Wiring is a mess havent figured that out yet. Do not wrap wires around the poles when setting up your position as I did and ended up having to rewire everything as I made them too taunt when i needed more room. There is a piece that covers the bottom of the pedals mine was pretty wishy washy as one of the screws doesnt screw all the way through because they missed the whole by a few mm.... So i just opted out and didnt use it as my pedals are screwed into the base.. As someone stated above this unit does wobble but if on carpet this is not noticeable. Getting in and out of the seat is a little uncomfortable but maybe thats because i'm just fat. Also the cushion of the seat doesnt stap in anywhere so its easy to pop out.. Dunno if thats good or bad but just doesnt seem right.
Installation instructions
Mounting onto the gameseat. Bolts were not included. All components are screwed into the seat using M6x16 bolts(You need a little longer if you want some on the bottom of the pedals as these are a little further but i just screwed in the 2 on the top and its good.). These can be found in the nuts and bolts aisle @ home de pot. I found mine in the carousels (SP?). You need a minimum of 6 plus 2 longer ones if you want for the bottom of the pedals but not nessesary as its already screwed in with 2 at the top.
You have to remove the one center mount on the shifter. There are 4 screws. 2 easily visible and the other 2 right beside it deep in the shifter (hidden)
Back rest of seat does fold down by unhooking 2 cane pins in the back covered by velcro.
Conclusion:
All in all $250 you cant go wrong.. Because if you want the playseat your guarantee to be spending $600+ new. Plus if you have a drill most of the issues can be fixed.

thx for the quick review. everything sounds like sthing i can get used to..but i hope the wobbling isn't too bad cause that would bother me.

Just text marco, he will tell you where to meet and confirm $250 thats all. I met him at his place near grandview and boundary.
You could get rid of the wobbling if you put rubber pads on both ends but thats about it.
BTW I mentioned nothing about revscene to marco, so i'm just assuming thats his price.

Also forgot to mention the shifter doesnt mount without the screws. Might aswell buy them from Home De pot as they are $0.39ea and it makes everything more stable.

From what i remember, i didn't heel toe aswell cause i didn't think it made a difference rev matching in the game. 2nd, the middle pole was there. Looking at the picture, the setup is fully adjustable, so it shouldn't be any issue with your knee hitting your steering wheel.
rk604
09-16-2010, 08:19 AM
just double checked, everything is EXACTLY the same as playseat except the seats are different and they come seperate, so you would need to bolt on i guess. I got one that was already bolted on, cause i picked up the demonstration unit that he usually shows to people.
unfortunately, that pole is necessary for the steering wheel itself to be firm and steady. If you want something more, then your best going with a different design that will probably cost more.
Dragon-88
09-16-2010, 08:37 AM
If the pole was adjustable in going up or down instead of telescoping it would be a lot better. Cause i find the tilt plate for the wheel doesnt go high enough so its always an awkward position. Pretty much if you offset the pedals another inch to the right then your heel toe wouldnt be an issue.

See, i thought this would of been a good idea aswell, but after some thought, i think that it'd make it unstable. The length is adjustable to adjusts the height of different users, but at the same time, the weight when you sit on it puts weight on the links to make it firm enough. If the height of the stand was adjustable, theres only the steering wheeel itself that puts weight, so i dooubt it'd be steady/firm enough imo

We should get a list going for GT5, since they're going to have a feature where you can have track days. It'd be nice to have a race between all the people who own steering wheels + seats :D

Custom building a collapsible one isn't easy or cheap. Just materials alone will come close to that, then you factor in time. No worth it.
I was hoping someone local would sell the stands alone.

Front part of the frame is what wobbles thought. When he demo'd me the seat he had to put it together and while he was getting parts I had a look at the front piece to test the wobble as a member said in this thread. and it really was. The chair stables it more though.

It will, 2 separate pieces. In my 4 door rolla, had to put the front part in the trunk and the seat on my back seats. You should also be getting 2 size allen keys and 4 pieces to the shifter plus 2 of the black knobs with threaded piece. Dont know what its called, but its for the shifter.

^ comes with a chair. Chair is quite comfortable.
ok. i just picked it up from his house. there was one already assembled and one unassembled in a box. I took the one that was already assembled. Pretty nice guy. I asked him to assemble the gear shift holder. He told me I needed to buy m6 screws to mount the g27 onto the seat. Other than that, the quality of the entire seat is pretty good. i may take some pics of it tonight.

Dragon-88

Nothing is flimsy its pretty rock solid. But if you plan on picking one up you might aswell buy the m6 bolts because you will need them anyway. If you dont then you will not be using your shifter that is a guarantee.

You will need 6x M6 screws as instructed by the seller. i used 10/12mm bolts not sure which as i just did trial n error with the pile of bolts that i have.
Make sure to have him assemble it on the spot cause there was one piece that broke off, he replaced it, but if i had to go back to his place just to pick up one little piece, it'd be sucha pain!
Another thing that you will need is a bunch of spacers or a nut because one of the bolts that screws onto the pedal heel part is too long and it hits the metal piece...look at my first pic and look at the nut i screwed on, you will have to do that if you want everything to be nice n steady :D
All in all in was a good purchase, and off course, pics as promised!
I just found out g27 cant use paddle shifters in gt5 prologue :(
