Reviews of the pilot episode were generally favorable, many invoking comparisons to Lost and 24, both of which had ended their runs the preceding spring and to which The Event had been compared prior to its premiere. Mary McNamara of the Los Angeles Times called it "as big, brash and promising as Heroes was a few years back". Variety's Brian Lowry called it "an enticing start".


Okay for those who watched it, doesn't the whole flash back thing annoy the hell out of you?

Also the ending was pretty awesome

I thought it sucked.

I'll watch it for another couple of weeks and decide from there. Spartacus started out really bad but ended up being completely awesome so I'm going to give new shows a few more episodes before I make my judgement

I think this show's gonna bomb. NBC has to have the worst lineup of shows... I can see at least half of their fall lineup bombing.
