Some pretty cool cars, although i think they forgot about "simplify, then add lightness" Colin Chapman must be spinning in his grave.

I also suppose its easier to design 5 new cars when the all look more or less the same.

2014 LOTUS ELAN
- 2900-pound, rear-wheel-drive coupe
- 4.0-liter Toyota-sourced V-6 that spins to 7800 rpm and uses forced induction—no word on what type—to produce 444 hp and 343 lb-ft of torque.

2015 LOTUS ELISE
- 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine riding behind the cabin. As with all current Lotus cars, Toyota supplies this engine.
- with force-feeding—Lotus doesn’t specify whether that’s turbo- or supercharging—the expectation here is for 316 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque.
- A six-speed manual is standard, while the optional gearbox is a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual
- curb weight of just 2414 pounds,
- Lotus projects a 0-to-62-mph time of 4.3 seconds, and top speed is projected at just under 170 mph

2014 LOTUS ELITE

- 5.0-liter V-8 is based on the mill in the Lexus IS F, but it has been reworked and force-fed—although whether that means turbo- or supercharged remains to be seen—with swagger-friendly results: 542 hp at 8000 rpm in the standard car, 612 at 8000 in the R-Spec trim.
- Both will come only with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2014 LOTUS ESPRIT

-3197 pounds
- 5.0-liter V-8 sourced from the Lexus IS F, and then turbocharged. Lotus must have done a bit more than just slap on the turbo, as the engine spins up to 8500 rpm (the IS F’s unit redlines at 6800). The company claims output of 612 hp and a stout 531 lb-ft of torque. The car drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2015 LOTUS ETERNE

- turbo- or supercharged (Lotus isn’t clear which) 5.0-liter V-8 rated for 612 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual.
- Although Lotus plans to make extensive use of lightweight materials—carbon fiber and lots of aluminum [aluminium, please—Ed.], including the forged control arms—the basic rear-drive Eterne is still expected to weigh in at just under two tons

I've been waiting for a new Lotus Esprit. The Elise and Exige are fantastic machines, yet the Evora is closer to what the Esprit was with a more luxurious interior and driver aids.

Specs of the Elise and others still look good. They're offering dual clutch too, I guess that's just progress.

i guess there not that heavy, and dual clutch autos are the new thing. At least the new elise is pretty awesome especially since its the only one i could ever hope to afford.

Taking a quick glance through these pics, they look like a catalogue of honda concepts of the the nsx and s2000. Nice cars nonetheless; I would rock any of them.

You forgot one new Lotus model

Lotus City Car Concept

http://images.thecarconnection.com/lrg/lotus_100324633_l.jpg

With the handful of new production intent concept cars Lotus is showing off at the 2010 Paris Auto Show this week, it’s evident the automaker, typically focused with lightweight sports cars, is trying new things. What’s interesting to see is that Lotus is expanding towards both ends of the new car spectrum, unveiling high-end supercars and tourers as well as this latest minicar concept.

The new concept is the 2010 Lotus City Car Concept, and as its name suggests the vehicle is aimed at motorists in congested urban environments where streets are tight and speeds are low. The vehicle comes with an advanced plug-in hybrid system with a single-speed transmission and an electric only range of roughly 40 miles--enough to cover the majority of daily journeys.

Once the vehicle’s batteries start to get depleted, owners can simply plug it into a regular household power outlet. If none can be found, the vehicle can keep driving in Range Extender mode where a small internal combustion engine is utilized. In this fashion, the Lotus City Car Concept can drive up to 300 miles.

The range extender engine is the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder unit seen in several concepts, such as the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid seen earlier this year. It is used purely to charge an array of lithium-ion batteries that in turn powers an electric motor rated 72 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. With a total vehicle weight of less than 3,086 pounds and full torque instantly available, the Lotus City Car Concept will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.0 seconds and reach a reasonable top speed of 105 mph.

A stylish glass roof is incorporated into the design to increase visibility; under the glass roof the interior is trimmed in a green and yellow tartan fabric and finished with a special Lotus steering wheel. Inside, the three door hatch there’s space for four.

They may all look the same but it's a good look

Like AM's.

I like the look. It sure as hell is different from the current Lotus design, but at least when they redesign, they do a good job of it.

I think they look dope, especially the Elan.
At the same time, does anyone else feel like there are too many of them to choose from? lol
