Interesting... so you had inside information about Oakridge mall since you work there, access to the mall since you took the day off, I would bet probably no alibi as to where you were, definitely motive since you work at a mall and probably want some money... I would say you are now the prime suspect.

Most places worthy of buzzing you in, have a small glass room you must get buzzed into, then another buzz to let you into the business.

It's an inside job. The security was part of it. They made a scene so everyone's attention is on the security and the robbers get away scratch free. They'r all part of the plan.

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Police say the shooter in last night's armed robbery at Oakridge Centre is just 15 years old.

The teenager is accused of firing several shots before he was arrested outside.

Longley tells us three others were able to get away. "Two of these men were seen getting into an older model red van outside the mall, which was driven by a fourth suspect."

The Surrey teenager was arrested after allegedly firing another shot and trying to make a run for it outside of the shopping centre.
Police say the teen has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and a number of firearms offences including possession of a restricted firearm, pointing a firearm and using of a firearm in commission of an offence.

They say around 8:30 p.m., a man entered Montecristo Jewellers and fired several shots, demanding merchandise. Two others stood outside, apparently beating the store's security guard.

He is due in youth court October 4th.

Oakridge security is contracted out.

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Three teenage boys have been charged with armed robbery, after the Montecristo Jewellers in Oakridge Mall was held up in late September.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Vancouver, are now behind bars. A now-16 year old boy from Surrey was arrested at the scene and has already been charged.

Sergeant Dale Weidman says they don't think it's linked to organized crime and the teens were essentially recruited. "They are not the organizers of this crime. They carried it out. The people that put these youths up to it, they're walking around today free while the youths are sitting in jail."

Police say they have a good idea of who recruited the teens, but wouldn't say who.
