Casino = free parking. You have to pay something like $50 when you enter but they give you a cash voucher. So park, go to game, go cash your voucher afterwards and get your money back.

Here are some good places to find FREE parking within walking distance from Rogers Arena or on downtown streets farther down from the arena. My friends tell me about these free spots that some people may not know about: :D
1) Loading zone spots on Abbott Street, near Dunsmuir.
Those spots have signs that indicate "Loading Zone." However, the loading
zone spots are only effective until 6pm. You get to park those spots after
6. A great way to get free parking.
2) Loading zone parking spots on West Georgia, between Hornby and
Burrard.
Again, these loading zone spots are free parking because according to
signs these spots are loading zones only until 6pm.
My friend and I parked these spots on Canuck game days without any problems. The spots are a bit of a walk to Rogers Arena.

why not skytrain? I find it quicker and more convenient than driving there

I would just park near a skytrain station and just Skytrain to Stadium Station.
I see lots of people park around Main St. or Broadway Station and take the train in.

If you dont mind walking 2 blocks.
Park in that Lot on pender street in chinatown (where floata restaurant is)
on event nights, its only a couple of dollars, totally worth it, just exiting might take awhile.

i did it for the first two preseason games I went to, Calgary and Edmonton.
They charge Special Event Prices of $30 if you say your going to the hockey game.

I always just walk around to the other side of the station where it isn't packed just to get to the platform. Give it a try :)

My friend owns a hair salon on Cambie and has a parking spot for customers in a parkade on Beatty. I just use that and let her know I'm there.

They might be cracking down on this. Back in August, that's what I did when my wife and I went to the Lady Gaga concert, and when we left, some guy holding a clipboard near the entrance with a pissy mood said we'd be getting a ticket in the mail... but I don't believe we ever did.

Depends where you live. I'm in the burbs and it's way quicker and more convient to drive. Take me maybe an 60-70 minutes from Langley there and 35 minutes home as opposed to 25 minute drive to skytrain and 60 minute train ride each way. If you have 3 or more people it's the same or cheaper to drive even factoring in gas and parking. You have to pay for parking at the train, then $5 per person there cause it's 3 zones and $2.50 per person back.
If you lived near the skytrain I think it would be a no brainer though.

Chinatown is raised to 17.50 now. Park in pacific center a bit of a walk but it's a flat rate of 6 after 6.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they started to crack down. People have been abusing their "free" parking for years now.

If you don't mind walking from PC might aswell just park underneath futureshop. It's only $4.50 after 6 :P but it closes at 11.

Do NOT do this. Tinseltown recently changed their parking policy. Free parking for two hours ONLY. There's security guards patrolling the lot and you WILL get a ticket or WILL get towed.
They are EXTREMELY strict on event days or when there are games. I know this because I know people who work at Tinseltown Cinema. The stub shit don't work no more unfortunately

thats why when i do this, i actually go into the casino make it look like i may play a game or 2, use the washroom and then leave to goto the game. wasting 5 minutes of ur life is better than paying $30 for parking.
