Well I have to say the best weekend of my life was last year in Portland watching UFC102. Partying with all the fighters all weekend and hanging out with them was beyond a weekend I will never remember and will be hard to top.

Last summer, 6 weeks, 9 countries, 18 cities, 2 backpacks, 1 dude in Europe. That was the best for me thus far. It was great not only because I wanted to do this for quite some time now, but the fact that everything worked out and my new job allowed me to have this time to travel. Just wandering around without any sort of stress or worry, visiting the sights I always wanted to go to, partying with random people every night from the Hostels, the abundance of beatiful women in every city, the great (sometimes) food, it was a blast. It really hit me that this was a great time in my life when in Rome, sitting on the Spanish Steps having just walked around the entire day and tired as hell, still the moment was just.........perfect.
(Ending my trip in Paris was terrific as well, what a city)

Just finished traveling for 12 months through Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Loas, Thailand, South Africa (world cup), Amsterdam, London and Berlin. This and especially making it to Base Camp Everast, and doing the Annapurna Circuit were the greatest times in my life.

rslater - what were the parameters for getting to base camp at Everest (training, price, experience, etc.) Myself and a couple friends are interested in trying this but I expect that it isn't something you just up and do and might require some time/training.
First trip to Asia/Vietnam. First 2 nights in Asia was Christmas Eve/Day in Hong Kong.
Spent about a month in the region, went to my best friends wedding who I hadn't seen for about 4 years, traveled all around Vietnam, a bunch of friends who I hadn't seen for a long time also came for the wedding so it was kind of like a reunion.
Pretty much led the way for my love of Vietnam and why I am now here working.

Wow I forgot I even made this thread. But little did I know back then, things were about to get awesome. Must say that this year I've had many awesome and rowdy nights. I just graduated from highschool this year and I have to say that highschool was tHe time of my life. Next year I'm gonna miss having lunch with a huge group of people, going paintballing, lasertag, movies and parties together as a mass gaggle. Highschool was so carefree and I had so much free time to mess around. All the hangouts, rs meets, rs photomeets was fucking awesome. The past month was pretty emotional. Prom, grad, aftergrad was awesome, the grad parties was really fun. signing yearbooks was pretty sad. Half the people I normally Hang with are going to the states or to the east to study. If you read my other thread, we just rented a yacht this Saturday and it was a final farewell and one of the best days of my life. Yesterday we had another getogether (just got home) and Tuesday will probably be our last time as a huge group because people are already moving and going on vacation. But grade 12 was an awesome year and I have already gotten myself involved with new priorities. I can't imagine next year being better but I guess my life is just starting.
^Same shit here bro. I feel sad now and shit but it's just the beginning! Kinda glad it's over now though, went through a rough time with a girl who's been my best friend since gr.8 and didn't turn out so well. Hope we'll still keep in touch though.
Sorry about that girl who fucked you over man, went through the same shit kinda haha

Lol check my recent post In the "speak it out" thread, things kinda got interesting these 2 weeks.. But yeah, I've been getting alot of mixed messages about post secondary. Some say it's awesome and others really miss highschool. Things are just starting for us cuz we're getting independent and we now have self responsibilities :/

I did not think you were that young, but anywho
you didn't really post much of a dilemma, you pretty much said, some say Post Sec is awesome and some missed highschool. Well Post Sec you can apply and go to, highschool you can't.
enjoy highschool, i miss it too, but going to post sec is better if you get into a good school and meet some good friends who stick out for the 4-5 years with you
do it now! all my friends graduate, i just have a few friends like me who are struggling along a few years behind

Best time in my life - probably my first euro trip - I was 23, and it really opened up my eyes.
Probably the best moment - Paris was basically the first city I visited - having gone straight off the plane at heathrow, then into London and onto the Eurostar. We made our way to our hotel (me and my buddy), and had some pretty wicked jet lag after having travelled so much in a day. We ended up waking up at around 5:30 in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so we wandered out onto the street to see the area around our hotel. A few blocks from our hotel, we could see the Notre Dame Cathedral, and walked along the river with hardly a person in sight. This was the first time in a foreign country by myself (away from family, and not on an exchange), and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life.
After that, I learned to love to travel, and meet new people across the world. It's great to see a whole bunch of people on this thread who are still quite young, having only finished high school, but honestly - you have the rest of your life ahead of you. I really woke up in post secondary, really met the people who would shape the rest of my life. I learned who my real friends are - not just the guys I eat lunch with everyday, but the ones who will help you through thick and thin. Your friendships will be tested when you can't see each other everyday, or when your best friend is across the world in a completely different time zone - but realize that while you guys are growing up apart, and may only see each other once every few months, and may only be able to send emails to each other, you will remain amazing friends.
I had an amazing time in Gr 12, don't get me wrong, and on a stressful day, I'm quite jealous of high school students - who don't have a care in the world. But that said, I wouldn't give up my current life at all - I have the rest of my life to look forward to!!

When I didn't know what real life was, still in elementary not giving a flying fuck about anything, chilling in the soccer box, eating Dunkaroos, when my bike was my mode of transportation everywhere. That was chill shit back then.
2008
Meeting my girlfriend, soon to be wife in the near future. It was honestly one of those things in life you can't prepare for or for a matter for fact even wish for. She came into my life randomly and was a blessing.
2010
Travelling with my girlfriend to Hawaii and just seeing new things for the first time together. Visiting Hanauma Bay was incredible amazing, snorkled out far and seen some amazing sea life.
2011
Travelling with some bro's to Cancun Mexico, even though I don't really remember much, I remember being extremely buzzed at 11pm everyday sitting on the beach with some beers or vodka 7's, feet and sand dipped in water just fucking chilling like G.
Come to think of it, I remember more bad than good. Still got 60 more years to live though. Will update in 20 years.

2007.
Just out of Highschool.
Had a good paying job, girlfriend, great friends, a new car, and I pretty much had my life in order but still in school.
Then it went downhill.
Then the rest of 2008 was pretty good. And it went downhill from there again. 2009/2010 is a drunken/drug fueled blur. I probably had a serious drinking problem, and I hated everything about my life. I wanted to move away just to get away from everything and everyone.
But this is another year. And 2011 is pretty good. I have my life back in order again. I found myself, and I'm on my way there with great friends. Plus, there's gonna be a new addition to the family, so I can't fuck it up now. I need that kid more than it'll need me.

I can relate...
In any case, our situations are classic "every guy alive" scenarios!

Looking back, I would say that my life between finishing university and moving out was a pretty damn good time in my life. I made 40K back then, but because I had virtually no financial obligations as I still lived at home, I could spend my money on whatever I wanted. I went to Europe and backpacked for a couple of weeks, I bought clothes to my heart's content, women were easy to meet, and my body could easily take alcohol abuse.
But, as Biggie put it so eloquently in 1995, the mo' money you see, the mo' problems you get. I'm nearly 30 now and I must say that while I have more assets now than ever before, my body has slowed down and I've become increasingly jaded about the world and people.

For me it was when my niece was born, and when I met my current gf. More recently its when I started to get into photography. It led me to doing RS photowalks and I've met some great new friends. Two of which are my partners where we started up Art of Stance. It's creating new opportunities for me and renewed my love of cars.

Spending 3 weeks with my wife in the French Polynesia for our honeymoon. Just thinking about it makes my troubles go away.
Unique location. What makes it worth going to, and is it expensive?

Now. Grateful for Today. Just looking forward on each new day.
- Great Friends
- GF is great to me (not bad on the looks, think Blake Lively in her nudie pics. Down to the size of the areola).
- Great Job - through the economic down turn, salary is still increasing
- Parents and sister is in good/great heath.
HS and University were great. But I was broke poor. I remember when my serious GF in University broke up with me (wasnted to marry her). She said that I could not "afford her". Left me for some short ugly ass guy. Made me think that I was even worst. Everything went down. Depression, bad grades at school, weight went down from 160 to 125. Stopped working. The home situation was terrible too. My Dad was in the IT field and he was affected by the remnants of the Tech bubble. Our household was getting into a lot of debt.
Then I just picked myself up. I realized that my problems ain't shit compared to others. I just had to reinvent myself and lose my enormous ego.
Back to the spirit of this thread:
Memorable Highs
-Valentine's Day with my ex gf from Uni (laying on the couch in the morning with her, everything was going great - had that sense of peace)
-Convocation @ SFU - weight off my shoulder, realizing my life plans are coming to fruition, realizing that going through the downturn was worth it just to shake the Dean's hand
-First career related job
-Senior Year High school - Girls, Friends, Varsity Team, School - perfect balance
- Best blowjob: she was on that Jenna Haze shit... (she swallowed of course)
- Squating 3 plates on a squat rack for the first time (felt unstoppable).
- Turning $5000 to $100,000 in 6 months as an option trader I do on the side. This was under my TFSA account too - tax free. Broke down and started crying.
- When all my core group of friends are all together just chilling.
- Playing bball and the opposing player just goes "whoa" on something I did (happened once)
My message for the RS fam: May the best of your today, be the worst of your tomorrow - Jay z.

We went during late November/early December in 2009 in what was called their "low season" but it was still pretty expensive (You could have a really nice trip in Europe for probably a third of what we ended up paying. However, it's remote (so airfare was $$$) and because it was the low season, we had the beaches around our resort to ourselves...quite literally.

However, the seascape and landscape these islands contain is just phenomenol. Being able to swim with so many different sea creatures (moray eels, reef sharks, dolphins, countless species of fish and touching a giant manta ray) was for my wife and I, a once in a lifetime experience.

This was our view from our motu's balcony. The water was shallow for miles and to wake up to this and just swim away...pure bliss. Being able to enjoy that with my wife, was greater than any monetary gains, career goals, personal assets I've ever made or accumulated. It was life-changing in the most positive way.

Going Europe (Paris/Rome/Florence) with gf, now Ex. Most romantic moment was the Paris By Night cruise ride with beautiful french music and night life. Oh and also going camping and ocean kayaking with her out in the Vancouver Islands when we first dated, out in the woods, cuddling under the tarp in the pouring rain outside. I still can't forget these memories.

Summer '04 - I'd just bought my first car, a Mk1 MR2 two weeks before provincial exams. Every day my motivation to study was to finally be able to teach myself stick and drive that fucker. Every day I'd walk outside and get in the car just to roll down the hill a couple feet at a time, and it'd be awesome everytime.
Then early one evening I said fuck it. I got in, turned the key in the ignition, and took my foot off that clutch, chirping into 1st - just barely. I made it all the way down Elliot and onto SE Marine for the best fucking drive of my life. Windows down, cool summer breeze, nailing every gear change into the twisties, throwing it into 2nd, pedal to the floor and savoring every second of that screaming 1.6L beast* deep into the redline, flying straight toward the fucking sunset. It was beautiful I won't lie.
*a beastly 117hp and 97lb-ft tq. I never got a ticket in that car and I used to wonder why. This one time I took my car up to a piss-my-pants 120kph and literally a piece of the roof tore off with a crunch. Best car ever.
So I guess the other time was later that year in Fall '04, in my first term, first year engineering. Killed myself late into the night drawing out a crazy ass digital circuit for part of an assignment, packing gate after gate, MUX after decoder onto pages on end. but I finally drew that last bus in and I was done and had a fuckin great time doing it. Went to school the next day and realized nobody in the class of 150 managed to get it. I kinda realized at that point that for once in my life, maybe I'd found something I was actually half way decent at.

- Olympics
- 2011 Stanley Cup Run
- Raving during a time where there were at least 2 raves going on every single weekend (1999-2002ish) Specifically my first ever party in 1999 at SummerLove in Chillawack. Arriving at the venue seeing 10,000 strong, crazy laser shooting into the mountains, awesome music, and everybody having a good time was priceless.
- First ever trip to Cancun with my current gf was awesome. Hotel was perfect, food was perfect, weather was perfect, and quite frankly everything was perfect.
- Disney Land with current gf. Come on! they call it the happiest place on earth for a reason.
Just to name a few I can go on a bit more.

Sorry to shit on some peoples moments but if times in high school were the best time of your life then you need to get out and discover the world and experience things. Exception to those who just graduated.
