My brother just got into an accident, he fell asleep and hit a road sign, one of those yellow ones showing "BUMP Ahead".
I was wondering how much would it cost him to get the sign fix?
Thanks

$120 for the sign.
$1,596.88 for the four city workers and two trucks required for a full 8-hour shift to put it up.

Needing a warning sign FOR the warning sign.. Priceless.

I'm sorry, but how is that remotely relevant to his question?

if it's a sign and the pole, you are probably looking at anything from $150-$500?
the cost of the sign itself maybe be less than $100 but like others have mentioned, if the city workers have to install it, you would be paying for labour
ask the city if you can do it yourself. lol. highly unlikely though!

Unions won't let the city do that.
You're taking away their work, and they don't like that.
It's kinda like private healthcare vs public.
Even if you are willing and have money, you can't.

Wow, kinda thought insurance would cover it. Didn't think op would have to pay themselves.
This would make for a good community chest monopoly card.
"You fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a Public road sign. Pay $450 to the city."

lol
What's the deal with winning second prize in the beauty contest? That card seemed like it was in the wrong deck.
On topic, I'd be tempted to just try and fix the sign myself if no one was around to see what happened. However, best do things officially if ICBC is involved.
How mangled is the sign? Is it just a bent metal support member? Did the base come out of the ground? I'm picturing a bent hollow metal stand that could be replaced at Home Depot.

yah sorry about my poor grammar lol, I posted right after I heard the incident.
my brother is fine, he's just dumb, he actually just got his 'N'.
Thanks for all your inputs,
I believe if the cost is over 1500 then we would have to pay it thru ICBC.
Didnt realize its going to be this costly! T_T.
The 1997 4runner had damages from the front bumper / grille / hood, I guess he'd be looking into another 1000 or so.

he probably said he fell asleep so your parents won't get mad and instead be concerned

I ran over a stop sign before. Just bent it back up and it stayed that way for years.

I'd rather hear my kid tell me that they failed while trying to dorifto and hit a stop sign when no one was around instead of telling me that they just fell asleep at the wheel.
