All over the place! What are your skills/interests?

I used to volunteer at several hospitals which was a great social volunteer experience (and looks fantastic on a resume). You need to be able to pass a criminal record check to qualify for that kind of volunteer work. Four hours a week is a commitment they'll happily take.

Just pick a cause that's important to you and look it up online.

Do you have first aid - St John's Ambulance provides volunteer first aid for lots of events - lots of 20 - 30 year olds there. They work in groups and have a group meeting once a week. Also again, looks great on your resume.

You could contact your city and find out what volunteer opportunities they have, maybe there's a commitee or event orginization team you can get involved with?

If you're at school talk to your Uni they're always looking for volunteers for differant projects.

Basically any civic or non profit org probably has a volunteer program. You just have to pick what fits your skills and interests.
