i will be leasing a car soon but i need some suggestions of a car (brand new or used) with a 20k budget limit.

im not looking for any performance type cars, just something that is reliable and looks sexy.

right now if i could get my hand on a used 4th gen camaro, that would be great. but im looking for more options out here. doesnt matter if its japanese or american or even north korean

You say you're not looking for performance type cars but you want a 4th gen camaro? eh?
20k for a brand new car doesn't get much; especially something that looks 'sexy'. There's the usual mazda3, civic, golf.

lol because leasing ends up being more expensive tha financing in the long run.... Financing gets you an asset that you can sell after. Leasing gets you nothing and costs you extra when you have to pay for repairs during the return or going over KMS etc

You say you're poor yet you want to lease a used car? Sounds like a good recipe to stay poor.

You'd be way better off financing a car you can afford or buying a cheaper car, outright.

LuHua
10-24-2010, 11:29 PM
If you're poor, I'm seconding the other guy's comment, RX-7's needs plenty of maintenance. Just look around for some of the eco car options right now if you're strapped for cash: Mazda 3, Hyundai Genesis, Matrix, Corolla, Fit, Civic, Fiesta, Lancers, etc. There should be plenty of reliable options in your budget range.

Nothing close to performance, but then you save on maintenance, and gas right?

mmmk
10-24-2010, 11:44 PM
i own a g35, it's reliable. but when shit needs to be fixed, it'll cost u an arm and a leg.

there are so little BRAND NEW cars out there that can be under 20k after you package it up. (specially since you're going auto! and if you want AC, power everything).

i was in your position a few months ago, looking for a new car. i think it was mazda3 or lancers that charged 3000 (yes THREE THOUSAND) for AUTO TRANS. seriously??!?!?!? average cars add 1000 for auto, so be careful of which one you're looking at.

i recommend searching .CA websites for the cars you want in your list, and do the "build your car" things that their websites provide. throw on the packages you want, and figure out the lease/final prices. 90% of the time, you're going to go over 20k (i always went over 20k, even when i was looking at a civic... i guess i was too picky with the packages). figure out what you need, and where you can shave off some money. after building a nice car that you want, go to a dealer and bargain it down below 20k ;D

Mugen EvOlutioN

Dragon-88

you said 4th gen camaro. Does it need to be a v8 or 6. I had 3 4th gens 2 that I still own, All 3 of them have been really reliable. One problem I did have was that I forgot to latch down the T-top and it flew off. And many 4th gens are well below 10000 now. Parts are dirt cheap, and they are cheap to maintain. If you are getting a early 4th gen, I would stay away from a them unless the waterpump and cam seals, and distributor has been replaced. If you want any more info on the 4th gen ask me. BTW one of my 4th gens is a for sale.

Where'd you hear that from...? Depends what you're comparing it to in terms of fuel economy, it'll be no worse if not better than equivalent engines such as VQ35 or J32 engines. Obviously compared to a fit/versa you'll be looking at much higher gas bills but then again you're getting 3x the power at the least

The LS1 cars arent that bad, its better than alot of stuff with similar hp. The V8 and V6 have very little difference in fuel economy. Manual and auto I get around 13L/100km in the city. the 93-97 v8s are not that great, but the 98-02 cars are fine.

I hope you don't intend to pick which car to buy right away using the internet without test driving other competitors
