what education/skills do I need to be get hired by Shaw Cable

Ok, so I want to become a shaw technician/installer

I'm working at a telecom testing company right now, and it seems like i can't move up unless I become manager or lead hand.

I don't really have any education in the field. Is going to bcit for 2 years taking telecom worth it at the end? will shaw just hire people out of the blue and train them as they go?

I'm glad you said technician/installer as if you said "Tech Support" I was going to say "you need to know fucking NOTHING, in fact job assets include: not understanding English, no formal training, and an IQ of 90 or less."

Sorry for not being more helpful, got to sit on hold for an hour last night trying to get through to Shaw, still kind of bitter.

I don't know. the resident technician/installer ain't too high on the ladder.

I've seen installers just following instructional sheets. Shouldn't be few hours of training.

Why don't you email/call them and ask? I'm sure they have a Human Resources department.
