Heard it over the radio.... saying they won't be getting rid of it for at least another decade and adding 2 more exams on top of it.

I don't exactly recall what those 2 exams were but one of them was about fuel vapour tank or w/e it was

I knew they would not get rid of it,it would not make sense for the government to get rid of a cash cow like aircare.

the article only mentions a review board of some sort that thinks that Aircare should stay. There is still some hope!

no pt getting rid of something while

1st, 60 bucks for a simple couple minutes of dangerously hard work on checking with obd scanner
2nd, it is environmentally friendly guys!
3rd, whoever swap stock exhaust for aircare will change back to catless+header+watever right after... supports local businese guys!
4th, the government doesn't want shit from the workers union for cutting jobs and shit
5th, that keeps people from getting inferior cat materials, supports cat or metal business guys!

are there any more details? ie. at what age will "new" cars start needing to be tested?

illicitstylz

Why would they git rid of it in the first place?

all the newer cars are built by a stricter standard now in terms of emission control.

they just have to address all the older vehicles.

you are shitting me fuel vapour tanks...... many old cars didn't come with one. I'm assuming that you are talking about the carbon canister that absorbs fuel vapour and then releases it into the engine when the car is started.... :bullshit:

Honestly, I'm pretty sure this was more about saving a bunch of menial jobs, than it was about saving the earth.

Fuckin aircare.

Probably won't be tested for it then.

how on earth do u pass aircare without a cat?

our cars are OBDII
they just plug your car in and make sure there are no CELs
if you have a defouler or have Kpro, this wont be a problem

the dumb ass also used a mirror to look under my car.....
but he still passed me

PK-EK

They should have stricter regulations for car with OBDI or older
and just forget about cars with OBDII, its just a waste IMO

or have the same thing as Alberta
Whenever you buy a car 12 years or older you have to do a VI on the car in order to get it insured, perhaps they can incorporate this with aircare

how on earth do u pass aircare without a cat?

Tuning. The car may not run very well after such tuning but that is easily returned after passing.

m3e92interlagos

im talking about the resonator in the front attached to the intake btw, not the exhaust. what if a car has headlight mods or something, like HIDS?

I had a testpipe and a CAT-pipe fabbed up when I had my header. I just swapped over to the testpipe during summers and the CAT-pipe during the winter for Aircare.

no
they still measure your Exhaust if you're pre OBD2

all the "new" cars that go to aircare are plug in to computer
