i have a car that still runs but its in bad shape cosmetically so dealers wont take it and i don't want the trouble to sell it on CL, is there any place i can take it to like a junk yard that will take cars for cash?

What type of car is it?
I know the BC gov use to have a scrap it program, but I think it might be over now.
Maybe donate it to a high school so they can work on it for their shop class. Or BCIT mechanics.

I believe it is a set amount for running vehicles. $100 or maybe $50.

From the sound of it, it won't be even close to 2000 if there are "dents and stuff so its in bad shape".
How many KMs is it? Any problems other than cosmetic? Does the AC/Heat work? Any leaks? Last time you changed brakes, rotors, timing belt, fluids? Any accidents?
There are lots of questions so it really depends. I wouldn't expect someone to just fork over 2000 dollars for something that isn't in great shape.

In my experience, you'd get around $300 from the wreckers...maybe, $150-$175 from a scrapper, and $500-$800 if you sold it as a winter beater.
Really depends on mechanical condition, mileage, Aircare etc..

Get a friend to CL it for you.. tell them you want 500 bucks, and they can keep whatever they sell it for above that.
