hey guys,
my brother is looking for a wagon/touring for his wife, hes thinking Audi A3 TDI... i'm brain-farting on other options right now... what do you guys think? other options? opinions? I already suggested Subaru but apparently they aren't good enough on gas...

Audi Q7 or Q5 ?
if you know some people, you can get a nice clean title in that price range (US vehicle).
i find the bmw and benz just looks hella funny as wagons, but some ppl like it.
volvo is also known for making wagons but not too into their styling, kinda boring imo.
is 40k the limit? just remember you have to pay hst, and on a 40k car its around 5gs.
personally, i'd go for a 09/10 a4 avant. might b able to find a slightly used one for just over 40, otherwise a3 is a great choice too.

haha, I think they are sweet when you need a full size pick-up, not quite as sweet as ford or chevy... plus he's already got a pick-up

Im just trying to get all the info I can, since I prefer to drive cars from the late 80's early 90's I don't know enough about the new stuff to give an informed opinion...

pre-owned bmw 328xi wagon.
decent on gas, warranty covers maintenance. if she wants to get rid of the jetta, a bmw will make her happy.
Manic!

Theres a EDM C-Class (or is it an E-Class?) running around Richmond, if she REALLY wants fancy then get one imported from Europe.
Actually,
how about the Mercedes Benz R-Class? Sure its kinda hideous but its what shes asking for, right?
+ its "benz" /cue sarcastic clapping

Yes to the CTS wagon. A4 wagon also looks good. Other wagons just look awkward, like they were afterthoughts (ex. 3 series wagon)

I'd go with the A3 tdi

A3 is nice, but A4 is more bang for the buck. Get a used S line.

- Sport suspension, including 30% stiffer shocks / springs, stronger stabilizer bars in front & rear,
suspension lowered by 20 mm
- 18'' 5 arm cast alloy wheels from quattro GmbH (8J x 18 ET 43)
- 235/40 R18 high performance Y-rated tires
- S line bumpers and rear spoiler trunk lid (from S4), S line grille, S line interior door sills
- S line badges on rear moldings of rear doors
- S line steering wheel: red/silver/black stitching, shift paddles on auto models; perforated leather
- Brushed aluminum interior trim from quattro GmbH
- Black interior, grey headliner

she already drives a 09 jetta 2.0 t... just wants something fancy and "new"
She's selling an 2009 Jetta, because she can buy something "new", but her concern is FUEL?
a4 wagon gets my vote.

both have it all: amazing gas consumption, looks, quality workmanship and lots of room =)
