watched the screening tonight.

I would give it about a 6.5/10. The action got a bit repetitive and there wasn't any real story to it.

Overall it was alright if you want to see military weapons and shooting.

I'd actually give this one a 8/10 as well. I thought it was well done, and mid-way through the movie, I was starting to think that there would be a bad ending.

It was action packed from start to finish so very entertaining!

It was a terrible movie! The trailers overhyped it way too much! Like most of you I was pumped to watch this movie!.... then when the time came, fell flat on it's face.... friggin' NO PLOT at ALL!... it was a 2 hour commercial for the US Army. A whole bunch of macho "We are marines, we are tough, let's blast them!"... and then it seems like the whole cast seemed to have UNLIMITED AMMO and just machine gun'd through the entire movie!... I don't think my ears have ever been punished by so much nonstop "dootdoootodootoBAMBOOOMdoodtootodooodoot" noise in my life!... it was just nonstop running and gunning with random "Frag Out!" grenade tosses every 10 minutes... but hold that thought, that's not even the worst part, the dialogue was so freakin' LAME I almost hoped that they just Rambo'd through the rest of the movie!... then there's the constant shaking camera which was making me nauseas... movie almost made my eyes & ears bleed simultaneously! So ridiculous LOL!

Only good part was that I think Aaron Eckhart pulled off the "gruff soldier" lead role really well. Michelle Rodrigez does what she does best in her limited but typecasted, tomboyish/tough but hot chick screen time.

I was thinking this at the end as well. What were other soldiers sent out to do. The same thing? If so, how come one of them had a tank there.


Anyways I enjoyed it. It was Marine vs alien action and that was all what I really wanted anyway.


Also, I'm PRETTY SURE whoever did the CGI for this movie did the CGI for District 9. They look very similar. Very realistic IMO.
