I just ordered a Slik Sprint Mini, haven't got it yet though. That's a great price for the Slik Sprint Pro II, that's basically the price they sell for on Amazon & BH.

the body only ^ ? or with with 18-200 lens?
what exactly is this memory express?
might jump on this deal.
Or just get the body from the US ($1000 flat price) with free shipping + free 16GB SD Sandisk memory card. Wouldn't want the 18-200 lens anyways, seems like a beginner lens.
the 18-200 is definitely not a beginner lens. It's an all-around lens, great for taking on trips and stuff if you don't want to carry more than one lens. But if you're a stickler for sharp photos, then I wouldn't suggest it - but it definitely beats carry a few lenses with you. even then, you could buy it at Mem Express and sell it on craigslist and make a profit if you'd like.

Yeah I got it with the lens. That lens is worth quite a bit of money. I figured if u bought 3 packages and sold the lens and 2 of the bodies you could be looking at a free 60D
Memory express has really good service too. I had a really good first time shopping experience. Treated me better than BC or lens & shutter ever did.
Haha I'm thinking of refunding though and get my native friend to get it price matched and tax free at park royal :D

They didn't have any tripods comparable to the broadway one though. The 60d is pretty fun haha I think I'll be getting rid of the 7D

Damn the Canon speedlight II is so tempting to buy...plus 5% discount from Memory Express...Should I get it guys? I don't have much of a indoor lens other than a 50mm 1.8 and the kit 17-55mm lens...

^should be good for portrait photography with that 17-55. Buy a cheap lightsphere and enjoy, I love the set up for photos at dinner etc. It's definitely a good deal

I've read that the slik sprint pro II has a carrying limit of 2kg, should I still jump on it?
I'm thinking of getting a 70-200 lens and I'm worried it'll be too heavy with my 60D :/

I have the slik sprint pro original lying around from my p&s days. There is no chance of it being sturdy enough for a 70-200 and 60D. I took it with me as a light carry on for my trip to england, and it could BARELY hold up my 5D and 17-40. legs were ok ish, but the ball head scared me.

went to the coquitlam location today and they told me they were closed. I asked them why and they said they had a "situation". I asked them when they will be back open and they said they don't know... at least for today. wtf happened. many of the shelves were empty and there were like about 4 people in there filming something. friggin pissed... was happy they opened in coquitlam because i live there but because the store was closed, i went to richmond. fml

I could, but it seems pointless to upgrade a $100 tripod
I bought a 055prob/486rc2 once I started using the heavy equipment anyways

The guy has the smaller Sprint and he doesn't seem to have any problems using it with a 5dm2+Bg-E6+24-105mm. Mind you the version 2 has a different ball head than the version 1 (which you have right?).

As far as I can tell the differences are the foam over the legs, and the ballhead now has a quick release plate. It doesn't appear that the actual ball and clamp portion of the head is any bigger/stronger. Which is why I suspect the guy you linked to upgraded the head in the second link.
The head will hold a decent amount of weight, but only if its pretty balanced, and the head is straight up, and you really reef on the lever. If you try and aim it up or down it gets weak. I used it to take a couple portrait orientation shots with the 5D + 17-40, and I literally had to tighten it say 15 degrees past where I wanted it, then let it sag down to vertical. It was a crappy guess and check till I got it level.
