Paintball: Tippmann 98 Custom - What is this?

What's this thing on the side? I'm a amateur in paintball lol.

i believe that is the velocity adjuster. It increase/deceases the speed of the paintball that gets shot out.

The Velocity adjuster is on the other side... that thing screws off and has a hole. Don't know what it does though.

It's not on the manual, if you look at page 12. That knob doesn't exist :/

Oh, actually I wonder if that's where the response trigger goes.
If you buy a response trigger, the hook up is around that area. If it really concerns you, just take it into a paintball store.

Velocity is adjusted right under the "Tippmann 98 Custom" logo.
That screw is for the cyclone feed, and is linked by a hose, which is supposed to push excess gas to the cyclone system, and rotates the paddles as the gun re-cocks.

Did you do your research before you purchased? There are some really good deals to be had if you know where to look and what to look for.
