im planning to buy 4 lcd monitors, 24' (around $250-300 each) also looking for set of speakers/subs. would stores like ncix negotiate on it. ie. purchase monitor at full price, and throw in subs/speakes for free?

NCIX won't.

You're better off just making sure you get the absolute best price on the monitors. Check MemoryExpress. They'll beat NCIX or anyone else's price by 5%. Then use your 5% to buy some speakers.

i dont think there are much margins to be made from monitors..and especially with the stiff competition i don't think there's any room for bargaining.

monitors/ lcds have about 20-30%, from the time i was @ FS..same goes for TV's eg. bought my tv a while back, retail was $2600, cost was $1800-1900. maybe ill pay FS a visit.

thanks though

Retail big box chains vs. smaller stores like NCIX, Anitec, etc. are different. They have different markups.

Reviews are not very good though... too much blue in the display output.

the best "negotiating" you can do with MemoryExpress or NCIX is pricematching, you'll find the best results from using pricematching with shopbot.ca

ncix only negotiates with big business's that have credit usually.

you may want to try picking up ncix's premier partner membership for $150/yr if you buy a fair bit, the PP discounts usually bring things down to the price they would be if they were on sale. Good if you buy alot of odd ball things that don't get put on sale.

if you want you can PM me what you're looking for and i can give you the PP prices.

PP is more than 5% off on alot of things.

i use it mostly for work purchases these days, but most stuff i buy at PP price is better than can be pricematched anywhere online.

most cables and high markup items are like 50%+ off.

contact FS or BB headquarters and see what they can do.

but your buying 4, not 40 monitors. to them 4 is not enough to give you any good pricing. just go to M.E. and price match the lowest price.

Price-match if you find a better deal elsewhere, it'll just be take it or leave it answer if you ask for a deal.

i bought a 24" LG monitor from NCIX for 175? or 179 before tax. (on sale)

the monitor had average reviews (not bad, but doesnt excel either), but from the year ive been using it, i havent had any problems with it, and the picture quality is pretty good.

if you're serious about buying bulk monitors, wait a few weeks to month shopping NCIX daily for their random daily sales etc, which is often when they have the biggest discounts.

also one thing to note: some NCIX stores have in store sales, like, the LG monitor i bought at 179$ wasnt advertised on the websites, it was IN STORE at SELECT locations. (bought mine from the kingsway one near metro).

my brother also bought a 24" SAMSUNG monitor from NCIX in richmond for 180$. that was on sale there, and not at the kingsway one. hope that helps ;p

Find a deal you like, then head over to FS and price match it.

a friend's friend who works at a samsung service center says for most PC LCD, retailers mark up 25 -30%, and it's rare there's a huge price difference in normal days. Not sure if he's telling the truth or a joke, he actually recommends us to buy those store demo models when we see a discount price, he says those made in China or made in Mexico LCD either stop working in the first 3 months or fail within 3 months right after warranty.

I don't think it is possible for a store to give you a free sub/speaker in your case.
