Also, any suggestions on how to measure centre bore without taking a cheap set of calipers and breaking it short enough to fit inside a wheel?

have you try ask shop like Volco or Kaltire?
I once brought a wheel to Kaltire to check the bolt pattern and they use the tool in first pic to help me measure it.

use an inside caliper, then measure with a digital caliper.

Don't know who would have them locally but I did see them at SEMA and thought they were pretty nice tool to have.
