'09's and 10's are pretty easy with a module.
The older ones pre 2009 (both Kia and Hyundai) are a pain in the arse and require dealer programming.

I have an 09 Borrego and I bought the blade with the kia ring... hoping it will go smoothly at Applewood kia. So when the use their scan tool, they're basically programming the blade as an extra key? Just like any other module... Just trying to pick the right words to explain to them what they need to do.

Sounds about right yes. Sometimes dealerships will tell you to go shove it though if they think its too complicated. We had to do that to an '08 Santa Fe. It sucked.

Thanks Mike, yeah usually they're not that co-operative but these guys actually listened and said they'd give it a try.

Only way to program the module was to hot wire the ignition and then remote start. Simply remote starting while the scan tool was plugged in would not work due to timing and the starter cranking.
