Keep your dog on a leash people!

I hit a dog today on my way home from work.

Part of my route home takes me through a narrow residential street with parked cars on both sides. You can only really go 20-30km/h down this street (at least, that's how fast I was going).

As I was driving down this street today, a family was playing with their dogs loose on their front lawn. As I was passing their house, one of the dogs ran out in front of my car. The dog was at my bumper before I could even react to hit the brakes.

I hit the dog, I was pretty fucking surprised it got up and ran back to it's owner. It was like a little pug type dog.

Luckily no damage to my car, the owners didn't even care to come over to talk to me when I pulled over. There were many pedestrians who witnessed the event and assured me there was no way I could be at fault for anything, so I left.

So keep your dog on a leash when you're in public, because I don't WANT to kill your dog because of your fucking stupidity!

I feel for you.. My little guy made a run for another dog one time and a car came to within inches of taking him out. The driver of the car and the passenger were pretty shaken up and I felt really bad for them. After that it was leash only on public streets.

OH and for the lulz

some dogs aren't on a leash because they escaped from their house or yard.
after a guest at our cottage accidently let my old bulldog Bailey out the door, he ran head on into the door of a moving car and dented it with his head while chasing after a chipmunk. he was fine. we all got a good laugh out of it in the end.

=( my puppy got run over cause my dad didn't put him on a leash. it was my fault though. i didn't get him use to the lease when i started training him, so he never wanted to put it on after awhile. so i was like "ah fuck it". he seen some dog across the road and got excited... ran towards him... and splat...

Exactly what happened to me only I was lucky my dog was shorter than the bumper of the car and it stopped "over" my pup. I can still hear the scream of the female passenger... she started crying hysterically I felt so bad for her! I had to show her that Hercules was ok lol.

I learned the hard way too. Lived in a rural area. Dog was well-trained off-leash. But, he saw a deer and animal instinct kicked in. He went after it but crossed a road at an inopportune time and was hit. RIP

Don't even have the heart to get a dog again.

OMG this reminds me of the time i almost hit this happy go lucky dog,
i was going up the hill on argyle st towards victoria st by the south hill library, and just as i came up to where the church was this little dog pops out and i was going a bit quick my fault. so i slammed on my brakes and all i remember was a ton of tire smoke, my tires locking up and me screaming fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. luckily. everyone behind me stopped as well and when i came to a stop the little doggy ran in front of my hood smiled and ran off.

i got out after and tried to catch it to call the owner, but he kept smiling at me and running off. so after calming down i went on with my way. i was pretty damn nervous, never wanna hit an animal, especially when it's someone's family member.
