Hopefully an easy answer, here's the question. I have a set of 4 195/75/14 snow rubs, I can get a set of 4 14x5.5 wheels I believe are +40 offset (the wheels are from a '98 Civic), will this set up work on my 91 4door Civic winter beat'? Just curious about rubbing issues and what have you. Posted via RS Mobile
yeah its bone stock, got the tires for a wicked price brand new goodyear ultra grips, couldnt pass them up, figured i could make atleast 2 of them work. I figured little bit of extra ride height wouldnt hurt for the Mt. Wash' trips and such, plus commuting over the hat is always interesting.
Would slightly wider wheels help to stretch out the tire enough to make it worth the hassle of trying to find 6" or wider wheels?
you would need a 8 inch rim to drop it 3 inches over a stretch.
run the tires as is, and just watch the speedo, at 40 you'll be doing close to 50, matching the flow of traffic will keep you out of trouble for the most part.
plus you'll save a touch of coin on the mountian trips
