If you're just wanting to learn photoshop, I would suggest taking a continuing education course may be cheaper. Check BCIT, Langara and Capilano to see if they have single courses for photoshop. Most "design schools" that I am aware of require you to take an entire program not just a single class.

Unless you plan on dropping 24k plus JUST for photoshop, don't even bother with it.

If you just want to learn how to use it, why not try youtube?

If you're looking for design elements and all that artsy stuff go to AI.

Buy a book and experiment :D

I learned photoshop by just playing around with it during my early HS days.

Agreed, Computer Arts, Computer Arts Project and Advanced Photoshop are great magazines which usually have useful information and tutorials.

The Computer Arts website has over 100 pages of Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials on their website.

No, don't go to Ai. It's overpriced for what they teach you. Go to a public school like Langara or Capilano. Even BCIT. As a former student of Ai, I highly DON'T recommend them. The teachers are great (for the most part) but the school itself is shitty.

actually I highly recommend anyone looking into going into Graphic Design or User Interface Design to check out BCIT's program.

AI sucked when graduated 5 years ago. Don't know if it has improved over these years.
Probably not though, since I'm willing to bet the school still runs like a business.

Unless you plan to get some kind of certificate or diploma to work in the design field,
going to school's probably not even necessary with all the easy accessible tutorials online and on youtube now adays.

AI is a private institution. It doesn't just run like a business, it IS a business.

Photoshop also puts out some fantastic video tutorials of it's own right on their web site that are very very useful. Get on a Photoshop user's forum too. I've met a lot of people online that have been amazingly helpful teaching me tricks for this stuff.
