I want to get into volunteering, both to contribute to the community and aid my application to law school.

Preferably it should be oriented toward social science/law but I don't mind general volunteering as well.

Thank you so much!

Any non profit that you can think of utilizes volunteers too. Pick a favorite cause, any cause.

You could try a community policing centre.

Try the Salvation Army food banks. I help stack the shelves with food donation. The people are really nice and you get some food so you don't starve to death during long shifts.

For animal wise Owl is great my g/f ended up getting hired going around teaching kids in school about birds of prey and she loves it. You end up working hands on with the birds and it will put a huge smile on your face.

If you're still in highschool go to your councilor, or go to the actual places that need help. Perhaps a retirement home, or a local vet.

Super easy, flexible shifts. If not, just go to govolunteer.ca like the above posters.
Also, you could try Vancouver Aquarium but from my experience, it was too far and boring as hell.
